Tossing Salt Presents:
June 3, 2018
It’s all about the music and a bunch of questions from an old associate of mine named Chris. He has the questions and I have the answers. Let’s get funky like a monkey and do this…
What would be your dream concert to see?
How about Alice Cooper and Aerosmith together with the opening act of Heart. Works for me and the music would be AWESOME!
Who should replace Luke Bryan as a judge next season on American Idol?
I personally think that Idol should go back in time and try to get either Steven Tyler or Randy Jackson back on board as a judge again, but if that’s not possible, how about Travis Tritt or maybe John Rich from “Big & Rich”. Those two gentlemen would work very well in that setting too.
A/N: I originally wrote this with Blake Shelton listed as the Judge for Idol. Oops! As my friend Harold pointed out to me, Shelton is on “The Voice”. It’s Luke Bryan who is doing the judging thing on Idol. My apologies for any confusion. My answer remains the same though and I still think either Travis or John Rich would be great choices to be judges on the new and improved (?) Idol.
Favorite musical act from the 80’s?
Culture Club would, I think, get the nod here. Joan Jett gets a big thumbs up as well.
Who would be on your Mt. Rushmore of rock & roll?
Elvis, Morrison, Joplin and Lennon….
How about R&B / Soul?
James Brown, Aretha Franklin, BB King and Dr. John…
Waylon, Hank, Cash and Willie… And for the female version, Loretta, Dolly, Reba and Patsy Cline.
Crooners / Big Band?
This would be Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis (The Rat Pack) and Nat King Cole to round things out.
What singers would you suggest that everyone needs to listen to?
The names that immediately come to mind are Steve Grand, Eli Lieb, Puddles Pity Party and Post Modern Jukebox and of course Shooter Jennings and his cousin, Struggle.
And that’s all. This was short and sweet, just like my ex, Danny. Have a great one and thanks for reading. Thoughts, comments and questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care.
