It’s the return of Wrestling Fact or Fiction. My thanks to Jake Chambers from 411mania.com/wrestling for providing the statements. The opinions are mine. I’m Doug and this is Wrestling Fact or Fiction. Let’s roll.

Statement #1: You were disappointed that Drew McIntyre lost in the main event of the first-ever PLE in his home country of Scotland.

FICTION: I didn’t expect to see Drew win the title and would have been disappointed if he had won the title. It was too soon to take the belt off of Damian Priest without totally burying his character. I had a feeling that Drew was going to get screwed and the only questions I had were would it be CM Punk costing Drew the victory, or would it be because of Carlito getting involved on behalf of Judgment Day. And it was because of Punk, to help carry their feud and keep it alive.

Statement #2: Will Ospreay is currently the best wrestler in AEW. He should win the AEW World Title and then be in the main event at the All-In PPV in London.

FICTION: Ospreay is one of the best wrestlers in AEW, but he doesn’t need to be the AEW Champion. Swerve is the champion and it’s too early, in my opinion, to have him drop the belt, be it to Ospreay or anyone else. As for All In, Ospreay is over and will be the hometown hero at Wembley Stadium. If the match is strong and the opponent is right, Ospreay doesn’t need a title as part of his match to be in the main event.

Statement #3: CM Punk will be World Heavyweight Champion in 2024.

FICTION: It may happen, but CM Punk doesn’t need to be the champion to be over with the fans. With a strong opponent, such as Drew or The Bloodline 2.0, all Punk has to do is show up, cut promos, and have the occasional match and he’s assured of a spot at the top. A World Championship would look nice on the resume, but Punk doesn’t need it.

Statement #4: You wouldn’t mind paying hundreds of dollars (or currency equivalent) to see a live WWE PLE that is 3 hours long with only 5 matches.

FICTION: I don’t mind watching it on Peacock or The Network, but if I’m going to a live event and paying out a ton of money, I want more than 5 matches. My preference for a live show is 7-8 matches. Only five matches though, no matter how good the matches were, would piss me off.

Statement #5: Without any AEW/NJPW inter-promotional “dream matches” left, Forbidden Door is still a good idea for an annual PPV.

FACT: AEW doesn’t need New Japan Pro Wrestling as their partners to put on a show of potential dream matches. Other promotions like AAA, CMLL, MLW, GCW, and TNA could all step up and take their place. And then when Indy wrestlers are factored in who aren’t signed to a major promotion, but have a name or reputation, the possibilities are endless. The concept of the Forbidden Door is a good one and makes for a good PPV concept.

Statement #6: Despite all the terrible matches, award-winningly bad feuds, and nonsensical promos in the past, you are still excited for this new Uncle Howdy incarnation of the Wyatt Family.

FACT: Yes, I am excited for the Wyatt Sicks and looking forward to seeing how this develops. Yes, there is potential for some bad stuff, but there is also some potential for exciting times, good matches, and good stories. I’ve always been a fan of Bo Dallas, as well as most of the wrestlers involved in this faction. There is a lot of talent that has been very underrated in the past. This might be their time. I want to see how things go before condemning or making judgments.

And there you go. My thanks for reading and again, thanks to Jake Chambers from 411Mania for allowing me to use these statements and play with his toys. Questions, comments, and thoughts are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And on that note, take care and I’ll see you at the matches.
