Wrestling Fact Or Fiction: July 26, 2013

Wrestling Fact or Fiction: July 26, 2013

Happy Birthday to my “little bro”, Micheal Youngblood.

Here we are again and it’s time to take that weekly ride into the world of sports-entertainment with a little thing I’ve borrowed from 411mania.com called “Wrestling Fact or Fiction”. They supply the questions, but the answers and opinions… They’re all mine. Let’s do this.

1. Daniel Bryan has no chance of beating John Cena at SummerSlam.

FICTION: Of course he has a chance. I think the bigger question is will he pin or make Cena submit and walk out of SummerSlam with the WWE Championship or will Randy Orton cash in the “Money In The Bank” briefcase and ruin his night? It’s Daniel Bryan’s time and I’m thinking (hoping) that come the night of SummerSlam, we’ll see John Cena tap tap tap as the wrestling world screams, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”…

2. Kassius Ohno will make the WWE main roster before 2014.

FICTION: Man has immense skills, but we’ve got too many new faces in the WWE right now. 2013 is over half over and if they were going to bring Ohno up to the main roster sooner rather than later, we’d already be seeing signs of it. He’s coming up in 2014, but not until then.

3. You enjoyed Chris Jericho’s 2013 run.

FACT: Jericho is always entertaining. ‘Nuff said!

4. You would watch a movie based on the life of Chris Benoit.

FACT: Popular answer would be no, but that would be a lie. I was a fan of Chris Benoit and Nancy (Woman) both and even if it’s just to complain and cringe at the images on the screen as a (most likely tainted) version of the story is told. I’d probably hate the movie, but just like a car wreck or a dead body, I’d still have to take a look.

5. Bully Ray should still be TNA World Champion.

FACT: Sabin is good, but “World Champion” good? Nah, I don’t think so.

6. Chris Sabin will have a successful TNA World Title reign.

FICTION: Can you say transitional champion and “Tommy Rich” style reign. Happy Birthday to “Wildfire” Tommy Rich, by the way. Sabin got the belt for now, but it won’t last long. I hope he takes plenty of pics and videos.

7. The reports about TNA having financial issues are being overblown.

FICTION: Where there’s smoke, there’s something burning. Maybe it’s nothing big or major, but there are issues that need to be looked at and taken care of. TNA only survives now because Panda Energy and Spike TV are covering the major bills, but sooner rather than later, changes are going to have to be made and TNA is either going to get stronger or go belly-up. I hope it’s the first and not the latter, but I’m not very confident in TNA’s future at this point.

And there you go. I’m through. Catch you on the flip side.

Ubuntu!
