Politics: Fact or Fiction…

Political Fact or Fiction

April 8, 2017

We’ve done music. We’ve done wrestling. And now it’s time to stir the pot and ruffle a few feathers. Political correctness is not allowed as I do that “Fact or Fiction” thing and the topic is politics. Let’s get right to it and do this…

Republicans in the U.S. Senate were correct to change the rules and use the so-called “Nuclear Option” to confirm President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court.

FACT: Was it the popular thing to do? Not really, but the precedent was already there, made by then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, to confirm then-President Obama’s picks for Associate Justices in 2013. Reid didn’t want to brook any oposition from the Republicans and decided to forget about fairness or democracy and changed the rules, despite being warned that one day, when the Democrats were no longer in power, it could come back and haunt the Democratic party. People were announcing opposition for Trump’s nominee not for any policy issues or because of his qualifications, but only because he was nominated by Trump. That’s pretty messed up, no matter how you look at it and Majority Leader McConnell did the right thing in using the “nuclear option” and getting the new Supreme Court Justice confirmed.

President Trump was correct to order airstrikes against the Syria for their chemical attacks on their own people.

FACT: President Obama made our country look weak and foolish when he threatened the Syrians a couple of years ago and then backed down, doing nothing. President Trump realizes that allowing the Syrian government to murder their own people with chemical weapons can not and should not be tolerated and had to be stopped with a serious warning given to the Syrians that we mean business when we tell them to stop. President Trump did exactly that.

The Federal Government should cut off funding for so-called “Sanctuary Cities”.

FACT: If you’re not going to obey the laws of the land and cooperate with the Federal Government in dealing with persons who are here in this country illegally, note the word “illegally”, then why should the Federal Government continue to pay your bills and give you money? It’s just that simple. If I work at a job, but decide that I’m not going to follow company policies and totally ignore all the rules pertaining to my job, should I continue to receive a paycheck and stay employed? Of course not, so why should the governments of these cities be allowed to ignore federal and state laws, but still get paid? Simple. They shouldn’t.

CNN is totally and unfairly biased against Donald Trump and his Presidency.

FACT: And the sad thing is, they don’t even try to present any kind of image of fairness or impartiality. Don Lemon is among the worst, but it seems to be all up and down the CNN roster. No matter what is said or done, Trump is wrong… period! They are still so butt-hurt over Hillary losing the election in November that they have forgotten what it’s like to be journalists and report the news, minus the spin and rhetoric. It used to be that MSNBC was the most anti-Republican and biased network and they’re still bad, but CNN has definitely surpassed them in consumption of the Haterade.

Donald Trump, so far, has done a good job as President of the United States.

FACT: Despite everyone trying to oppose him every step of the way in every single move he makes, Trump has actually done well in his first few months as the President. He immediately started trying to keep his campaign promises and he’s doing a far better job than I ever expected him to. He wasn’t my first choice as President, or even my 2nd, 3rd, 5th or 10th, but he’s working hard and trying and getting things done. And it’s not Hillary so that’s pretty damn good too!

Rep. Maxine Walters (D-CA) is correct when she says that Trump is “not her President” and refuses to cooperate or work with him in any capacity.

FICTION: Despite whatever she may personally feel, Maxine lies again when she says that Trump is “not her President!”. If she’s a citizen of the United States, then guess what? Trump is her President. And as for not being willing to work with Trump or attend any kind of function where the President is attending, then she just needs to resign her office and quit Congress then. Her job is to represent the people of her district and part of that means communicating with and occasionally dealing with the White House and President Trump. If she can’t do that, she’s not doing her job and should step down. It’s just that simple. Besides, she’s an idiot anyhow and the fact that she is a member of Congress is sad and embarassing to say the least.

Black Lives Matter.

FACT: All lives matter, be it black, white, native, latino, straight, gay, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, fat, skinny, pretty, ugly, etc. If you can’t see that, then you’re an idiot and probably a racist bastard as well. ‘Nuff said!

And there you go. Now I have fifteen minutes left to post this and get back to work, so I’m out of here. Thoughts and comments are welcome. Thanks for reading and I’ll catch you on the flip side.
