Word Association
May 9, 2017
Word association. This is where someone says a word or name and you reply without giving it much thought, the first name or other word that comes to your mind. It’s a tool used by psychologists and lazy interviewers to learn more about their patients, interviewees, etc. Sigmund Freud, aka “Siggy” in the Bill & Ted movies, was a great fan of these kinds of tests and felt that they were valuable tools to gaining insight into the minds of his patients and who they really were and why they were that way. I just think they’re fun and a good way to pass some time and do some filler writing when I’m unable to sleep and yet, also unable to get myself focused enough to do any serious writing. Not that this isn’t “serious”, but let’s be honest, it’s not quite up there with the “Wrestling Fact or Fiction” pieces. I’m hoping that, by doing this, I’ll either get tired enough to fall asleep or get the fires stoked up enough that I can do some serious and “real” writing. Either would work for me right now, although my burning eyes and aching arms and legs would probably prefer the sleeping idea.
So what I’m going to do is go online and find a good “Word Association” test. I’ll do it and post it and from reading it, you, my loyal and faithful subjects, will then have great insights to why and who I am. That’s the theory anyhow. Doesn’t that sound like fun? Not really, but let’s just pretend and do it anyhow. And away we go…
I look at the word and and comment with the first thing that comes to mind. It might just be one or two words or you may get an entire paragraph or story. I guess that’s what makes this so fun. *rolls eyes*… Let’s do this…
Coat – Cold weather
Bed – My favorite place to be. Soft, cool and dark.
Day – Too hot, too busy.
Ears – A great place to nibble..
Love – A fantasy I’ll never know.
Hot – the weather, the summer – I hate it!
Star – Make a wish.
English – A language that no one seems to speak properly.
Coffee – Smells great and tastes nasty. Not my thing at all.
Horse – Mr. Ed.
Litigation – Lots of lawyers dragging something out. People who are lawsuit happy.
Nonrestraint – BLM and how they behave. Idiots!
Themeless – The crap I’m writing right now.
Shebang – A song that was big a few years ago. Can’t remember who sang it. And Cyndi Lauper’s “She-Bop”… A classic.
Unconstitutionalism – The Democrats trying to snowflake their way and change the world for the not-so-better.
Fang – Eddie Munster’s stuffed werewolf. Also Phyllis Diller’s “husband”.
Burial – what happens when we die.
Shake – An Artic Orange milk shake from McDonald’s would be good right now. So would a Frosty from Wendy’s.
Mad – It’s a mad, mad world. And people are crazy.
Flute – Zamphir. I don’t think I spelled that right, but my dad loved his music. Man played the pan-flute and was big in 70’s and 80’s.
Tempt – All these young men around here. I’m too damn old, but if I wasn’t… Oh vey!
Thundering – Thor, Marvel Super Hero and Asgardian God of Thunder.
Bridge – Will cross it when we come to it.
Prod – Poke, jab and generally just annoy the hell out of.
Pancake – with sausage and syrup. A great breakfast.
Hypnotise – Look into my eyes. You are under my power. Now cluck like a chicken.
Filthy – Cars and houses.
Garlic – No vampires allowed.
Yank – People born above the Mason – Dixon line. My family and several friends.
Fragile – The young people of today. Scared of words and anything that doesn’t agree with them. Rather than learn, live, encounter, confront and thrive, they seek out “safe spaces” and whine. All part of the entitlement society that we have become. Stupid idiots!
Popcorn – Sutton. The greatest moonshiner of all time that ever went legit, after the Duke Boys of course.
Accept -Giving in and giving up.
And that’s it. That’s enough really. Look at the words and analyze my responses. What do you think? Do you know me better now? Do you think you know what makes me tick now? Probably not, but this was a start. And now, I’m going to go watch a movie on Netflix. I want to go to sleep, but it just isn’t going to happen. So I’m down and gone for now. Have a nice day (night).
Ubuntu!
