This and That…

Just a thought here. The FBI Director is an appointed post that, just like other appointed posts in the Executive Branch of the United States Government, serves at the pleasure of the President of the United States. By the very nature of his position of power, Donald Trump did not need a reason to fire former FBI Director James Comey. It’s just that simple. So all of these calls for a “special prosecutor” to take down Trump for terminating Comey, it’s just a lot of hot air and blowing smoke and a total waste of our time and money. And isn’t it really ironic that the main people who are protesting Comey’s termination are the same ones that were calling for it back in October of 2016? My, have things have changed. It’s all just politics in play. I personally think Comey was and is a good guy and pretty much straight up. He was caught in a bad position and made a few questionable calls and now, he’s paying for it. He’s the scapegoat taking the fall. It’s not fair, but it’s Washington and the price to be paid for trying to toe that line just one time too many and not stir the waters, even when they need to be stirred. He’s been fired and will move on to a book deal, probably a analyst position on some network and a nice retirement for a few years before becoming the DA for some community or the Attorney General for some district. He’ll be okay though. And everyone else will move on and continue the partisan bickering and back and forth trash talking in Washington. And the investigations into Trump’s connections to Russia will continue. And if we’re lucky, the new FBI Director, whoever it may be, will also look once more into the flagrant violations of federal law by Hillary Clinton, The Clinton Foundation and their associates. Wouldn’t it be nice if the next FBI Director turns out to be Chris Christie, former Governor of New Jersey? Or Congressman Trey Gowdy. I think everyone would be wanting Comey back then. Just saying.
Someone who uses drugs while pregnant, constantly neglects their child, leaving them with strangers, sells her body for pills and meth, sells her children’s toys to get more pills, has a home with no power, no food in the fridge and bugs everywhere, and makes a rock look intelligent by comparison is not a person who should be on Facebook informing the world about the pros and cons of immunization and vaccines.
DId you know that at Harvard University, a place where the person I just referred to will never, ever go, the officials that run the school have decided to quit charging overdue fees for late library books. Yes, this is true. Previously, the school charged the students 50 cents a day for books that were kept out without being renewed past the 28-day deadline, but it was decided that the pressure of having these fines to deal with (and the responsibility of getting the books back to the library on time) was just too stressful for the students and caused anxiety. Yes, the students at Harvard can’t handle the pressure of returning a library book on time or paying a fine. My question is, if the idea of being responsible and returning a book on time is too much for these “great minds” and the “future of our nation”, then what is going to happen when they get into the real world and have bills due? If they don’t pay their car payment on time and it gets repossessed. Or if the rent is due and they can’t handle the pressure of paying it on time and get evicted. What happens then? Mass suicide? Paying the fines were part of learning responsibility and not being responsible has consequences. It’s part of life and growing up and participating in the real world. Harvard isn’t helping their students in any way, shape or form by removing these fines. They’re hurting them by sheltering the students from reality and real life. This is really, really just sad to see. It’s a small thing, but just a perfect example of what is going wrong with the world and why the kids of today, supposedly our future, are so damn weak, pitiful and sad. If these kids are our future, our future is screwed. And they have their teachers and school to blame. Well, take part of the blame anyhow.
American Idol is coming back. It looks like ABC has purchased the rights to the show American Idol and will be bringing it back for the 2018 season. No word yet on what changes may or may not be made, but officials at ABC have indicated that they want Ryan Seacrest, now co-host of the “Live with Kelly and Ryan” show along with Kelly Ripa, to be a part of the show and the host. I hope that they can bring Randy Jackson back as either a judge or mentoring the contestants, I consider him a big part of the original show’s success. Please leave Niki Minaj, Keith Urbam and Harry Connick Jr. off the list though. They were NOT good as judges in my opinion. I like Jennifer Lopez and if she’s available, that would be great, but if not, then go fresh with three new and distinct talents as the judges. My picks, off the top of my head right now, would be Queen Latifah, Kid Rock and Dolly Parton. Why the hell not? That covers rap, rock, country and everything in between, plus all of these talents have personalities and know the music business and what it takes to make it better than nearly anyone.
I really need to get away from this town for a while. Not long, just a year or ten. If my family wasn’t here, I’d probably already be gone. And I love my job too. And I have some awesome friends, both of them. I still need a break though. Anyone want to take a broke-ass, middle-aged and crazy man to the beach for a weekend or so? Or just hide me away inside your double-wide so that the rest of the world can’t find me. Just for a few days… please!
I also need a good man / boyfriend. So if you have a single brother / cousin / ex / co-worker, etc, that is funny, smart, sexy and you think that he and I would hit it off, let me know. Friends with benefits are good too. Just like Wanda from “In Living Color”, (anyone remember that show?), I’d rock their world… lol Call me!
And I think it’s time to close this up. I have things to do. Happy Birthday to my long time friend and all around good guy, Bryan. I’ve known this man since he was 17 years old and if anyone deserves a great birthday and all of the best in life, he’s the one. Party hard, my friend.
I’m down and I’m gone.
Ubuntu!
