This & That
June 9, 2017

I’ve got roughly about 40 minutes or so before I have to head out for work. Time to kill (and no, I’m not talking about the Alice Cooper classic), so why not clean out some of these little notes to myself (and no, I’m not talking about the incredible book by the late, great Hugh Prather). I make notes all of the time for myself on different topics that I think I may eventually want to write about. It could just be a word, an observation, an idea that comes to me from out of nowhere at 3:00am, etc. I make notes on everything and anything. And if I go ahead and write them down and make my comments here, I can throw the notes away and clean off my desk somewhat. Doesn’t that sound like a plan? I think so. Let’s do this…

Things That Belong on “The List”…

People that drive in the rain with no headlights.
People that don’t use turn signals.
People who play their music so loud, it vibrates the building.
People that come to my register at work, reeking so strongly of weed, that the smell is still there ten minutes after they’ve left.
People that ask, “Working hard or hardly working?”. It wasn’t funny the first thousand times I heard it and it’s not when you say it.
People that “joke” that if an item doesn’t scan, they “get it free”.
People on cell phones in public.
Spider Crickets.

A few weeks ago, when we had the local high school prom, a man came in the store complaining that his ex-wife had told him that he needed to pay for a motel room for his teenage son for after the prom. Is that woman stupid? The man said, and rightfully so, that there is no reason for a 17-year old boy to get a motel room after going to the prom. And he’s right. Why would a teenager need a motel room. Either for sex with his girlfriend, who from what I could get, was 16 years old. Teenagers have sex. I get that, but don’t make it easy for them. This could be a possible statuatory rape charge depending on the age of the girl and this is also where surprise pregnancies come from. The same “Mom” who doesn’t care about her teenage, underage son screwing his girlfriend, also teenage and underage, will probably be the first one, if the girl winds up pregnant, to raise hell, call her a slut and say she “trying to trap her son and ruin his life!”. But “Mom” bought them a motel room. And if he’s not out screwing, he’s with his friends, drinking and / or smoking weed. Still underage and that’s illegal. When the prom is over and the boy has taken his girlfriend home, then he needs to bring his ass home too. There is absolutely no good reason a person can have for a bunch of teenagers to have motel rooms after the prom. Nothing good or legal will come of it and that’s a fact. This man was right to be pissed at his wife and what she was saying.

Will Soundgarden continue after the sad and tragic death of singer Chris Cornell a few weeks ago? Some bands have managed to continue, such as Queen, who have now enlisted Adam Levine as their lead singer or Quiet Riot, who now have former American Idol contestant James Durbin as their new singer. But will Soundgarden? It could happen, but I don’t think it will. RIP Chris Cornell…

Have you ever seen anyone go through the Drive-Thru of a restaurant and their windows don’t open. They pull up to the speaker, crack their doors a few inches because that’s only as far as they can due to being up next to the speaker, and then they scream their order. It’s freakin’ crazy. Just go inside the building instead. Please!

I saw a man and his daughter come into the store a couple of weeks ago. She was very talkative and kept calling her dad “Squeaky” and “Super Dad”. It was kind of odd, but kind of sweet too.

Why is it that when we have two registers out of three open at our store, one at either end of the counter, why do people go to the middle, closed register, and stand there waiting to be served? And then, when you tell them to come to either one of the open registers, they get mad. People! *sighs*

People are just strange. Jim Morrison had it right.

I think I’m going to use Tina Turner and “Proud Mary” as my video of the day soon. And the song, “I’ve Never Been To Me” by Charlene at some point too. I wonder if I could get away with using some clips from Richard Pryor and his comedy act from a few years ago.

Hillary Clinton has blamed everyone and everything for why she lose the 2016 Presidential Election to Donald Trump. It’s the DNC’s fault. It’s the Russian’s fault. It’s Captain Kangaroo’s fault. It’s her advisors fault. It’s Monica’s fault. It’s Comey’s fault. It’s the media’s fault. There is only one person who is responsible for Hillary’s loss. Look in the mirror, you crazy ass woman. Damn!

And that’s all. I have to go now and get ready for work. Talk at you later.

Ubuntu!
