Tossing Salt Presents:
Opposing Views
June 14, 2017

Opposing Views is a news media site out of California that I regularly read on Facebook. They claim no agenda, but are extremely to the left in their views, opinions and articles. Yet, I still read the articles and look at their site. Go figure. I think it’s because I like to read the comments to their articles and feel my brain cells scream in agony as they take in the blatant stupidity and ignorance in some of the commentary. The articles are biased, but readable (for the most part). The comments from the other readers, not quite so much. I’ll will give them credit though for asking interesting questions to generate discussion. And once a week, I go to their Facebook page and just copy down all the questions and answer them here at my site, cause that’s what I do. That’s what I am doing now, getting out there and getting political, with answers, views and opinions from the Dougie perspective. That’s what this site is all about, be it wrestling, politics, music, life, or whatever, it’s looking at the world through my eyes. No political correctness here and while intelligent discussion and debate are always welcome here, just remember one thing. My page and I’m right. So are you ready to do this and take a look at some of my “Opposing Views”? Let’s do this…

Agree or Disagree? Trump will end up being a better President than Obama?

Only time will tell, but he’ll have a hard time being any worse. The styles are so different, with Obama being such an unemotional cold fish and Trump over-reacting to every single thing. But so far, so good. I’ll go with “Agree”.

Describe Bill Clinton in one word.

“Slick”

Trump says there’s no way he’ll support a climate deal that gives foreign bureaucrats control over American companies. Do you support his decision to leave the Paris Agreement?

I definitely agree. Why should our country and taxpayers pay trillions of dollars for a plan that will have little to no actual effect, only possibly reducing temperatures by a tenth of a degree over the next century and taking the lions share of responsibility for the rest of the world. We have to put our nation first and spend money where it actually has a purpose and benefits our nation and the Paris agreement does none of that.

President Trump says it’s flat-out wrong to make religious companies pay for their employees’ birth control. Do you agree with him?

I absolutely agree. Why should any employer pay for their employees birth control? It’s not the employer’s responsibility to make sure that their supposedly adult employee knows to use contraception or else practice abstinence if they don’t want to have children. I can’t go to my boss and say, “I think I’m getting laid tonight so give me ten bucks for a box of condoms!”. It’s my personal responsibility to take care of that myself and that goes for everyone else as well. Birth control is not expensive and if a person can’t take care of that need themselves, they don’t need to be out having sex. Simple as that.

Do you think the Clintons were a disgrace to America?

Yes! They were and still are.

Republican Sen. John McCain just said American leadership is now weaker under Trump than it was under Obama. Is he right?

For now, McCain is probably right. Trump hasn’t found his groove yet and with all of the opposition from every direction undercutting his every move, things have not fallen into place as he probably would have hoped. Obama, for all his faults with policy, personality, aloofness and leading from behind, still inspired his followers in an almost cult-like way and there was no doubt that at the White House, during his administration, Obama was the boss. Trump will find his way eventually and things will definitely improve, but for now, the leadership being offered by the White House is definitely lacking.

Use one word to describe Hillary Clinton.

“Cold”

Do you think President Trump’s first six months in office have been a success?

As far as getting legislation passed and setting the agenda, it’s been fair. There has been opposition from every direction from the Democrats and lots of distraction with fake scandals about collusion with Russia that have taken up far more time than necessary, but Trump is still managing to get things accomplished. Could you imagine though how much would be done and how much better things would be if the Democrats would quit crying and whining about the election and quit being obstructionists and actually do their jobs in helping to make things better for our country. No, I can’t either because with leadership like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, etc, it’s not going to happen. It could have gone much better, but so far, so good.

Alabama recently passed a law protecting Confederate monuments from being torn down. Do you think Congress should pass a law protecting Confederate monuments nationwide?

Yes, because these monuments are a part of our American history. And good or bad, they stand as a source of pride for some and a lesson for others. History can not be ignored and forgotten, as much as the “Snowflakes” wish otherwise. If we forget it, we repeat it and no one wants that. So leave the monuments alone and use them as learning tools and life lessons, as they should be.

No, this isn’t déjà vu. Trump’s travel ban was rejected by yet another federal court today. Is it time for him to give it up?

Not at all because it is totally within his right, as the President of the United States, to do whatever he feels is best to help protect the security and interests and safety of our nation and it’s people. It’s not a permanent ban, but just a temporary restriction on immigrants and travelers from several countries that are all on our nation’s “terror lists”, and from where the people can not be properly vetted before allowing them to enter our country. It’s common sense and needs to happen, but the courts keep playing the “politically correct” game instead of the “common sense” and “as determined by U.S. law” game and fighting President Trump on this. Hopefully, the Supreme Court will make the right call and allow the travel ban to go into effect as it should.

Hillary Clinton has never let the critics stop her from chasing her dreams. Do you admire her?

She’s also never let things like laws, self-respect, honesty, rules, dignity, truth, justice, honor or morals get in her way either. And some people have ended up dead as a result of crossing the former First Lady / Senator / Secretary of State. She’s a crooked, dishonest, reprehensible facsimile of a human being with no emotions, morals, or decency about her. Do I admire her? Not a damn bit.

Use one word to describe President Trump.

“Impulsive”

Would you vote for Michelle Obama if she ran for President one day?

She’s never held any kind of political office at all and the only job she’s ever actually had of any note, was as an Attorney. But then she lost her law license and was disbarred for reasons that remain sealed to the public. So is she qualified to be President? Nope. Would I vote for her? Nope.

The Dickson County, Tennessee school district banned students from bringing the American flag on campus because they’re worried it could offend some students. Do you think that’s ridiculous?

The school is located inside the United States of America. It is legislated and controlled by the local government, which is overseen by the government of the United States of America. The flag should not only be allowed on campus, it should be flying proudly in front of the school each and every day. And if anyone is offended by the sight of the flag flying, they need to either just shut up and bear it or else move to another country. This is totally ridiculous.

A lot of people are not happy about what Joy Behar said about President Trump’s grandchildren. Do you think kids should be kept out of this stuff?

I didn’t even look to see what Behar said about the grandchildren because it doesn’t matter. The kids are off limits… period! They’re not politicians and not part of the deal when it comes to commenting on what any politician or public figure says or does. Behar is so desperate to try and remain relevant, as if she ever truly was, that she’ll do or say anything. Just a sad, sad piece of trash loser.

And there you go. Another edition in the books. Prayers to Congressman Steve Scalise for a speedy recovery from the shooting in Alexandria early this morning. It’s getting crazy out there folks. Be careful. I’m out of here for now. Time to go have some dinner. Take care and thanks for reading.
