Tossing Salt Presents:
Wrestling Q&A
June 14, 2017
It’s time to take a look at several questions, found over at Facebook at the KOK, and do some of that “Wrestling Q&A” stuff. Let’s skip the small talk and get right to it, shall we? Let’s do it…
Salvador asks, “Which match up would you had wanted to happen in WWE? Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura or AJ Styles vs CM Punk?”
Both matches would be great to see and exciting to watch, but what about Daniel Bryan versus CM Punk? Or did we see that one and I missed it? Anyhow, between these two choices, I think the AJ versus Punk match would be the one that I’d enjoy most.
Sammy says, “Is it just me? Matt Hardy seems like he can’t break the ″broken matt″ act… something is totally off with with the way he is acting kinda reminds me of Eugene.”
After being such a big part of his character for the past few years, it makes sense that Matt would, just by habit, go into the “Broken Matt” character from time to time. I think though, he’s just setting us up with some subtle teasing for the eventual debut of “Broken Matt” in the WWE.
Zach asks, “What’s one show, that isn’t currently on the WWE Network, would you most want to see be added? For me it’s WWE’s ECW.”
There are many shows, such as Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling (from 1979 – on), WCW Main Event, NWA World Wide Wrestling, etc, that’d I love to see show up on the Network so I can enjoy the moments once more that I enjoyed as a child. But the main one I’d like to see sooner rather than later would be Sunday Night Heat. I made my start writing about wrestling as the recapper for Sunday Night Heat for the WrestlingInformer.net. It was a good time for wrestling and those were some great shows. I’d like to see them again.
Trent says, “I know I will catch some hell over this but man I can’t help but feel Fandango is truly one of the most underrated and underutilized guys on the roster. Their push right now is refreshing, but I remember Johnny Curtis also.. Dude could’ve been a superstar. He’s well known and has a good life in wwe, but his in ring skills are LEGIT!”
I agree. Johnny Curtis is a great talent and could be a major player in the WWE if used and booked correctly. They don’t even have to change the character much, but just do a gradual make-over, with Fandango being more serious and focused and having that lead to more wins. He’s got so much potential and skill, but it’s all in the booking. I think his time will eventually come. I just hope it’s sooner rather than later.
Alex asks, “Best entrance in WWE right now? Shinsuke, Finn, AJ or Bray Wyatt?”
All of them are great and I’m a big Bray fan, but the best right now, in my opinion, is Finn Balor, especially when he’s in “Demon” mode.
Adam says, “What’s going on with AJ Styles? Seems like they are hardly using him. Did I miss something?”
AJ is being used each and every week and doing battle with Kevin Owens. I think you’ve missed something.
Felix asks, “Does Lana have the best finisher in the WWE’s Women’s division? If not, who does?”
Lana uses a kind of “X-Factor” move and it looks good, but I have to go with “The Queen” and her “Figure 8” leglock as the best. Or Asuka, just kicking people in the head. Lana looks good, but she has a ways to go to be the best at anything in the WWE Women’s Division yet.
Monesh asks, “In a report by C Ramp it’s heavily speculated that Kurt Angle will be the headline for WWE’s 2K18 cover or possibly The Undertaker.
Who do you want on the cover?”
Disco Inferno. No, I kid. (Not really). How about Heath Slater. After all, he has kids.
Paper Champion asks, “Best Anderson? Lars, Gene, or Ole for your money?”
I never got to see Lars wrestle and Gene was tough as nails and a legit tough guy to the max, but when it comes to delivering the goods, both in the ring and on the mic, Ole was and will always be the man.
AJ asks, “Thoughts on Rufus R. “Freight Train” Jones.”
From what I remember of Rufus, he was not a good wrestler. He was a big guy and had that charisma though that brought the fans in. He was headbutts, fists and the “Freight Train”, aka a series of shoulder blocks. If you wanted a classic wrestling match, aka Ricky Steamboat, then Rufus was not your guy. But if you wanted a show and charisma and energy and entertainment, then Rufus was the way to go. An under-rated legend, especially here in the Carolinas. There was only one Rufus R. Jones, but that’s all we needed. Always a fun time and entertaining match when Rufus was involved.
And there you go. That’s all for today. Thanks for reading. Questions and comments welcome. And I’ll catch you later.
