The Mood Is About To Change…

As you may have noticed, the name has changed. Instead of the wordpress address at the top of the page, this site has now been officially changed to DougMaynard.com. Yes, I have taken the plunge and made that move. The whole “Tossing Salt” thing comes from the name of my infamous wrestling column, “Tossing Salt – Worldwide News”, which I’ve been writing, off and on, for the past fifteen years on various wrestling websites all over the internet. That’s been my bread and butter and the topic that brought me to the dance that is blogging to begin with. But things have changed and I have changed and even though wrestling is and will always be one of my favorite topics to write about, as you will see quite frequently here, there is now so much more. I write about music. I write about politics. I do Q&A’s based on questions from Facebook. And essentially, it’s now anything goes, what you see is what you get, no political correctness or apologies, pure Dougie, all the time. Yeah, this is my world – welcome to it!

So “Tossing Salt” is being put on the shelf for now. I still own the domain “TossingSalt.com” and that may be brought out to play with at a later date, but for now it’s just me, myself and I, the mind and madness that is Doug Maynard, available and here for your pleasure, at DougMaynard.com. You’re welcome.

So what can you expect here at the site? There will be Wrestling Q&A’s. There will be Facebook Q&A’s. There will be editions of “Fact or Fiction” for both wrestling and music. I will get political at least once a week with “Opposing Views”. For every WWE pay-per-view event, there will be prediction columns where I discuss the events and give my opinion on who should win or lose and why. And did I mention that the “Tossing Salt – Worldwide News” column is coming back? Plus you’ll get surveys, the occasional rant about this, that or the other, fan fiction stories and maybe even some of that “Thirty Days of Dougie” magic that happens every so often. Just like the Real World used to be on MTV before the show and the network started to suck eggs, it’s time to quit being nice and start being real. The gloves are off and that Dougie-magic is fixing to kick in and take over.

Yeah, I’m extremely psyched for this and to see where it goes. It may just end up being that one of many blogs that no one reads or cares about… Or we may just find that niche, catch that lightning in a bottle and kick some proverbial ass all over the world-wide web. Time will tell, but I’m aiming for the latter and ready to hit that ball to the bleachers. You have been warned. And everyone reading this is welcome to come along for the ride.

So new name and new beginning. I’m Dougie and this is my word. Strap in and enjoy the ride. Let’s do this…
