Sleeping…

Sometimes you just wake up
and everything stays dark
the body is in motion
but the mind is a million miles away
in a dark and lonely place
and no one knows
no one can tell the difference
it is what it is
it’s my life
smiling and laughing
going through the motions
in your eyes, I’m okay
in mine, I’m lost
I’m scared
I’m hurt
I don’t want to go on
yet I don’t have a choice
Sometimes you wake up
sometimes it just seems that way…
