At a site called MarcandAngel.com, I found these awesome questions. There are no right answers and there are no wrong answers. There is only what I answer. Yeah, that sounds cool to me too. So here is a five-part series where I will tackle all “50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind”, ten questions at a time. Will it free my mind? That’s the theory. My mind could use a good escape sometimes and this is cheaper than renting a motel room and getting drunk so… :Let’s do this and see what happens. Thoughts, comments and questions are all welcome and appreciated. And away we go…

You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?

Mention that the person that they’re talking about is my friend, let them know that I do not appreciate the criticism of my friend and explain to them why they’re wrong in their judgement. I may respect someone or admire them, but if they’re wrong, so be it. Real friends are few and far between and if I consider someone as a true and real friend, I’ll defend them and fight for them if need be because that’s exactly what real friends do.

If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?

Stay a child as long as you can and don’t grow up too fast because being an adult and growing up… it sucks!

Would you break the law to save a loved one?

Yes.

Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?

A friend from a long time ago, now unfortunately no longer with us, was a great example of this. When we first met, I knew he was different and had that special “something”, but I couldn’t see what. He was personable and intelligent and charming, but I kept seeing him doing things that I didn’t like or understand, things that made me uncomfortable and thought it was either being stupid or crazy. And then, as I spent more time getting to know him and the way he thinks, the way his mind works, etc., I realized that I was I thought was crazy was just his way of relating to the world and dealing with things in his own way. He was so funny and creative and a great writer, although he didn’t like sharing his stuff. I read a few stories that he wrote and some songs and this man was so incredible and out there in his own way. He was pure magic trapped in a human body, but his soul was cosmic. Rest In Peace Kenny Jones…

What’s something you know you do differently than most people?

My behavior towards others, my strong reluctance to answer phones and even e-mails, my sleeping habits and patterns, the odd foods I like to cook and the time of day I usually prepare them (late at night). So many things come to mind. I might be slightly odd in some ways. I admit it.

How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?

Because everyone is not me. I am me and I like what I like, but I don’t expect others to like everything I do, nor should they expect me to like everything they do. We’re all different with different tastes, habits, perspectives and ideas. It’s what makes us who we are.

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?

Leave Laurinburg and Scotland County and move to a place where no one knows me and make a fresh start. And why am I still here? My family is here and so is my Mom. They depend on me for a lot of things and I have responsibilities here I can’t just give up so easily.

Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?

Yes.

If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?

If I was to just up and move to another state, I think it would be either Ohio or Virginia because Ohio is where my family comes from and I always used to enjoy going back up there to visit when I was younger. Virginia just because it’s a beautiful state and well, why not? I actually like and enjoy my current home state of NC, but I just want to get away from this particular area of the state. Maybe down to Wilmington or up closer to the Virginia border, like around Boone, would be ideal.

Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?

I’m usually good with just one push. I hate being in an elevator and try not to move at all any more than possible. And no, it doesn’t make that agonizing long ass ride any shorter. I wish it did, but no such luck.

And there you go with Part 2 now in the books. I think now, it’s time to call it a night and go to bed. Thank you for reading. Comments, thoughts and questions are welcome and appreciated. Have a great one and I’ll catch you later. I’ll be back.
