Opposing Views

One of my favorite political news sites on Facebook is a page called “Opposing Views” where they presents dozens of politically based stories, usually strongly slanted towards the left, each day. And they have great questions on their site for the readers to comment on. Some of the comments will make your head want to explode and will drop your IQ by thirty points just by reading them, thus turning you into a Hillary supporting snowflake, but some aren’t quite so bad. And what I do here, at least once a week, is run down the list of questions that the site offers and give my own answers and thoughts. No, I’m not politically correct, but you know what? I’m usually right. So it’s time to get political. No New City Hall for Laurinburg! Kid Rock for U.S. Senate! ALL Lives Matter! And finally, “I’m black and I’m proud!” – that’s a “Commitments” movie reference by the way. Let’s go for it and do this…

Who was a better President: Obama or George W. Bush?

No doubt about it. President George W. Bush was definitely a better leader and President. Despite his mistakes, and there were many, no one could ever doubt the love he has for our country and the respect he had for the office of President of the United States. Obama’s commitment to the office often seemed at time to take a back seat to his political party and personal agenda regarding racial issues. Obama seemed to me to be more concerned about his standing in the world stage rather than what was in the best interests of our country and it was rather blatant at times. I wish we could have Bush back in office now.

Jeff Sessions wants to get rid of Santuary Cities. Do you support our Attorney General on this?

Sanctuary cities need to be abolished and ended. Illegal aliens are just that… illegal and by refusing to cooperate with Federal laws in regard to immigration, documentation of workers, these cities are giving our government, our nation and our laws the proverbial middle finger. If the cities refuse to comply with federal law, they need to have all federal money and aid cut off completely. I know that’s extreme, but so long as the city government’s continue to support criminal activity, they don’t deserve to be rewarded for it. Whatever Attorney General Sessions has to do to end Sanctuary Cities, he has my support.

Michelle Obama said today that she doesn’t ever plan to run for political office. Is that good or bad news to you?

I consider that to be good news because the less Obama in my life, the better.

DNC Chair Tom Perez says Obama’s work saving the middle class makes him one of the best presidents of our time. Do you feel the same way?

I look around my city and my state and want to know what middle class that Perez is speaking of because things over the past 8 years have definitely not gotten better for the people in my state. More people working more hours, if they even have jobs to start with, and bringing home less. Millions more on government aid like food stamps, but can’t afford insurance for their families because Obamacare has caused the prices to skyrocket so badly, it went from manageable to totally outrageous with far higher deductibles with fewer services. The Obama policies, from what I have seen, did not save the middle class but instead have almost totally destroyed them.

All of the celebrities that promised to leave America if Trump won should leave. Do you agree?

They made vows and promises to the public that if Trump was elected President, they would leave our country. By not doing so, all they’ve done is expose themselves for the lying, hypocritical two-faced pieces of dog crap ass-clowns that they actually are. They promised and they lied… typical stupid idiots.

Dozens of House Republicans filed a motion today to investigate Hillary Clinton, James Comey and Loretta Lynch for their handling of the Clinton email investigation. Do you think they deserve to be investigated?

Laws were broken and there was obvious collusion between Lynch, Clinton and the Obama White House, far more than anything that has been alleged between Trump and the Russians, and a special prosecutor should be appointed. Clinton needs to explain, under oath, about the Blackberry phones that were crushed with hammers, the classified material that was leaked, the sale of U.S. Uranium to Russia under her watch and why the same people who brokered that deal donated over two hundred million dollars to the Clinton Foundation. Lynch needs to explain why she had Comey downplay the investigation about Clinton in the media and the whole deal with her meeting with Bill Clinton. And Comey, who admitted leaking classified material about his meeting with Trump, needs to be charged and prosecuted in regards to that as well.

Do you support or oppose Trump’s decision to ban transgender people from serving in the military?

Nope. He’s wrong on this one. If a person can pass all of the physical and mental requirements to serve in the military and want to serve and honor our nation, let them serve. I would probably go on a case-by-case basis instead of a total ban because there could and would be issues to be dealt with, but for the most part, if a person wants to serve and can pass all of the requirements, without any special treatment or changes to suit their needs (one size fits all requirements – pass or not pass), sign them up and swear them in.

And that takes care of that for me tonight. I may be back later on. I’m looking at a “Hate Crime” issue in Kentucky and haven’t decided yet whether or not to tackle this issue. I’ve got to think on it. But that’s for later and this is now. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts and questions are welcome. Take it easy and I’ll catch you later.
