Tossing Salt Presents:
Opposing Views

One of my favorite political sites on Facebook is a page called “Opposing Views”, where they claim to have no agenda, but the lean to the left is so obvious, even Whoopi Goldberg would call them biased, leftie snowflakes. But if you overlook the obvious dislike of Republicans and especially our current President, the page can be and is entertaining at times. Reading the reader comments will have your brain cells screaming in agony as they die a painful death, but the questions that the site sometimes ask can be insightful and intriguing. So what I’m doing here is listing the questions that the site has asked over the past couple of days and I’m going to answer them, as truthfully and honestly as I can. Yes, I’m giving my “opposing view”. So, since all of that has now been explained, let’s get political and do this. And the questions start… NOW!
Trump’s approval rating was already the lowest for a new president in history, and it just sunk even lower.
Do you think Trump needs to get his act together?
Yes, Trump does need to “get his act together” and stabilize his administration, something that he tries to be doing with the admission of General Kelly as his new Chief of Staff. He also needs to pay less attention to the media and the haters and focus more on getting the things he wants through Congress. But the media also needs to “get their act together” and quick nit-picking on every little negative and focus on things that actually matter, real news instead of hyperbole and spin. And lastly, the Democrats need to “get their act together” and do what they were elected to do, work with the President and other side and fix the problems that burden our nation, not playing petty “I don’t wanna play with you cause you’re a meanie” mind games, as they’ve been doing so far with effort after effort to undermine every single move of the President. Trump needs to “get his act together”, but by far, he’s not the only one.
“A media lynch mob is trying to take down Trump.” – Bill O’Reilly
Do you think O’Reilly is right?
Bill may be a loud and arrogant blowhard at times, but on this, he is 100% totally correct.
Bernie Sanders says the Democratic party needs to become even more progressive than it already is. Would you support that?
Which means Bernie wants us to become totally dependent on the Government and a totally socialist nation. That can’t and won’t work and would only lead to our destruction and failure as a nation. So my answer would be not only no, but “Hell No!”
NFL ratings dropped in 2016 for the first time in years, and the majority of fans say it was because of National Anthem protests like Colin Kaepernick’s.
Did you tune out because of Kaepernick?
I mainly tuned out because I was busy and rarely had time to sit down and watch an entire football game, but yes, the antics of idiots like Kaepernick did also have a part in my decision to choose other activities over football. This guy was disrespecting every single man and woman who ever put on a military uniform and who lived for and died for our flag and nation. I was a fan of the 49’ers until this clown started doing his thing and the fact that the organization and people in charge of the team didn’t step in and stop it immediately made me lose a lot of respect for the franchise. Kaepernick has every right to say and do what he thinks in his own time and that’s cool. That’s the first Amendment. But when he’s wearing that uniform and representing his team, the team and the franchise should come first and his actions caused a lot of hard feelings and ill will towards the 49’ers and the NFL in general. And since they didn’t take action to prevent Kaepernick from disrespecting the fans and American people, well, karma is a bitch and the ratings fell. They asked for it and deserve it.
Do you think President Trump deserves more respect than he gets these days?
Yes. He’s the President of the United States, like it or not, and deserves the respect that comes with that office and title.
Should we keep Guantanamo open and put all terrorists there?
If by terrorists, you mean Hillary, Bill, Barack, John Kerry, Susan Rice, Wasserman-Shultz, Eric Holder, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Loretta Lynch, etc… then absolutely.
Describe President Trump in just one word.
President!
Would you like to see Elizabeth Warren run for president one day?
An unqualified, lying hypocrite who only wants to spend money and give everyone everything, turning our nation into a socialistic dreamland, with no idea how to pay for it and not willing to make the necessary sacrifices and efforts to control spending and actually help the American people and economy, only caring that feelings are not hurt and everyone has a “safe place”. Sure. Let her run. If there is a candidate out there even worse than Hillary Clinton for President, then Warren, aka “the Indian Princess”, would be the one.
Which leader acts more like a president: Bill Clinton or Trump?
Bill is sly and slick and charming, but rapes women, steals money and uses cigars on interns in the Oval Office. Donald is loud, obnoxious, insulting and has little hands. My pick of who acts like a President? Both of these men could and should take lessons on how to be Presidential from #43, George W. Bush.
YES or NO: Do you support Donald Trump’s border wall plans?
Yes! Build that damn wall! ‘Nuff said!
And I’m ending here. I have many more questions already lined up, but they can wait for another column probably tonight or tomorrow. I have to go get ready for work now. I’ve been called in on my day off. I guess that means I get to whine all afternoon about how “I’m not even supposed to be here today!”. Yes, I can pull a “Dante”. Who gets that reference? Thank you for reading. Thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated.
Until the next time…
