Music Fact or Fiction

Are you ready to sing? Are you ready to dance? Are you ready to do the Rumba? Hell, what is the “rumba”? I have no freakin’ idea, but I think I heard it mentioned one time on Dancing With The Stars. Or maybe it was the Gong Show? Who really cares anyhow? I’m here and it’s Saturday morning and it’s time to get into the music scene with that “Music Fact or Fiction” thing we do each week. The questions I’m commenting about come from my friends at 411mania.com/music. And the opinions that follow? That’s all me. Let’s do this.
Lady Gaga is in the right in her legal issues with Dr. Luke.
FACT: Dr.Luke is an idiot who has, I guess, some kind of lawsuit going on with Kesha. And now, he’s trying to drag Lady Gaga into his circus of being a moron with attempts to get into her private conversations and find out if she defamed him or something like that. Who the hell cares. Luke has Darth Vader as a father and is an ass-clown in every sense of the word. I don’t even like Gaga, but I’m sure that she’s right, he’s wrong and the sky has clouds. ‘Nuff said!
A hologram tour for Dio is a bad idea.
FACT: You’re not seeing Dio, but instead a video of Dio playing live. Just too technical and costly in my opinion to have any kind of real success. Too creepy too. If it’s not the real McCoy, aka Ronnie James Dio (RIP), don’t even try it.
Justin Bieber is not finished with music.
FACT: Beiber may be getting spiritual now and taking a break from music, but it’s too big a factor in his life and the man has (and I hate saying this) too much talent and spirit to just walk away. He’s young and still finding himself, but music is too big a part of him to just abandon it forever. Not going to happen.
The news of a new Rolling Stones album is exciting.
FACT: It’s the Rolling Stones. They haven’t had a new album out of original music since 2005 so the world is ready for them to prove once again why they are the world’s greatest rock band. Even if it sucks, it’ll still be better than 95% of the “new” music out there and will be magic to our ears and souls. And you know why? Because it’s the Stones. ‘Nuff said!
Kanye West’s company should be able to win a lawsuit against Lloyd’s of London.
FACT: So when Kayne cancelled his tour, his company filed a claim with Lloyds on their policy that allegedly included cancellation and non-appearance fees. Lloyd’s is denying the claim due to that they think Kayne’s pot use contributed to his breakdown. This will probably end up with a settlement of some sort, but it’s Kayne they’re dealing with and Lloyd’s had to know that they were dealing with a nut-case to start with. After all, it’s Kayne. But if Lloyd’s wants to win, they have to have proof that Kayne’s breakdown was his own fault. That’s not going to happen.
You enjoyed The Weeknd’s remix of “Reminder.”
FACT: I looked it up and listened and while it isn’t my type of music, it didn’t totally suck either. I don’t hate it and probably wouldn’t turn it off immediately, so I guess that’s the same as “enjoy”. Close enough anyhow.
And that’s that for now. I’m tired and going to bed. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts and questions are welcome. Have a great night and I’ll see you on the other side.
