Let’s talk wrestling. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.

Sabu is All Elite. Thoughts?

It’s a nice moment for Sabu, who lives in Las Vegas, but what’s the point really except to give Sabu a check and for Tony Khan to interact with one of his childhood heroes? Given the controversy over past tweets by Sabu that are popping up, it’s a nice gesture by Tony that may come back to bite him in the ass. I understand the nostalgic moment and all that and if I was a billionaire running a wrestling company, I’d probably do the same thing with my favorites from the past, but except for bringing Sabu in for the sake of bringing him in, there isn’t any point.

Nikita Koloff & Gunther versus The Road Warriors. Who wins?

Nikita and Gunther would end up beating the holy hell out of each other and the Road Warriors would take advantage to get the win. What a rush!

Hulk Hogan says that Shane McMahon approached him about having a match at Wrestlemania 39. Thoughts?

Hogan, who can barely move and can’t take any kind of bumps, against Shane, whose only real talent these days is jumping off of things and sweating. Sounds like a classic main event for Mania to me. Book it, Triple H.

Thoughts on Wahoo McDaniel?

One of the legit toughest men in the history of pro wrestling. Wahoo wasn’t a great speaker or promo guy, but in the ring, those chops spoke far louder than any words ever could. His matches against the likes of Johnny Valentine and of course, Greg Valentine, are still talked about today, over forty years later. A true icon and legend in every sense of the word.

How long do you think it’ll take before things go sour between AEW and CM Punk again?

Do you mean before some elite EVPs start crying, complaining, and trying to make waves? Collision debuts in June so I expect Uncle Dave will be reporting on how “unprofessional” Punk is and how “unhappy” the locker room is by the first of July at the latest.

It looks as if AEW might soon be using Stokley Hathaway as an Authority Figure for television. Thoughts?

An on-air Authority Figure to make announcements is a good idea for AEW as it shows that (allegedly) someone is in charge and can slow down or stop some of the stupidity that regularly occurs on AEW TV. Plus it cuts down on the number of Tony Khan appearances and special announcements, something AEW desperately needs to do. But Stokley Hathaway? What happened? Did Teddy Long say no? If there’s going to be a General Manager or other type of authority figure, it needs to be someone credible and respected and not a comedy act manager. Arn Anderson, Jake Roberts, Mark Henry, Jerry Lynn, and Dean Malenko are all available and work for AEW already so use one of them. Any of them would be better than Stokley.

Can Dominik Mysterio still get into the Hall of Fame? Or did he ruin that by going to jail?

Dom’s hardcore criminal past might be a burden that he needs to overcome, but so long as Mami is in his corner, I think his odds of getting into the Hall of Fame are still pretty good. After all, who wants to get Mami mad at them?

There are four PPVs this upcoming weekend. Is that too many?

It’s quite a bit, but there is never such as thing as too much wrestling. Just watch the good stuff (Impact, WWE) and ignore the head-scratching, poorly booked bad stuff (AEW) and you’ll be okay.

An old tweet of Sabu replying to Taz about Renee Young has resurfaced using a homophobic slur, plus other tweets by Sabu using the N-word have shown up as well. So why is AEW allowing Sabu to be on their TV when they wouldn’t allow Jay Briscoe to be on AEW TV over comments made ten years earlier that he had already repeatedly apologized for?

Sabu is allowed because Tony is a hypocrite when it comes to who he does and doesn’t book for his television and he was probably hoping that no one would notice.

William Regal versus Billy Robinson. Who wins?

This would be a classic match of English-style wrestling and so much fun to see. Both Robinson and Regal could shoot if necessary and that would be where the fun comes in, looking for the worked moves and looking for the real shots, and trying to decide what was what. As big a favorite of mine William Regal is, I think Robinson would come out with the win.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and stay well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
