Thoughts & Predictions

Impact Wrestling will present the 2023 Against All Odds PPV PPV this Friday 6/9 from Columbus, Ohio. Of course, that means it’s prediction time. Let’s do this.
Impact Wrestling Champion Steve Maclin vs. Alex Shelley.
After finishing up his series with PCO, Maclin is on a roll and doing a great job as the new face of Impact Wrestling. Shelley is a damn good wrestler and this should be a fantastic match, but I don’t see any title changes happening.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Champion: Steve Maclin
Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion Trey Miguel vs. Chris Sabin.
My rule of thumb has to never bet against Trey Miguel and I can’t see doing it here. Sabin will give the champ a run for the money, but Trey is keeping that X-Division Championship.
Winner and STILL X-Division Champion: Trey Miguel
Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions ABC vs. The Good Hands with Brian Myers.
ABC is Ace Austin & Chris Bey, while The Good Hands are John Skyler and Jason Hotch. And we all know who Brian Myers is. This should be another fun match. Skyler & Hotch are young, determined, and have been on a roll as of late. Austin & Bey though, are the veteran team and having a great run as the tag champions. I don’t see these belts changing hands either.
Winners & STILL Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions: ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey).
Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo & Trinity vs. Gisele Shaw & Savannah Evans with Jai Vidal.
Trinity is still new and the fresh, new star. She’s teaming with the champ and she’s not losing here.
Winners: Trinity & Deonna Purrazzo
Masha Slamovich vs. Killer Kelly in a Dog Collar Match.
Two tough-as-nails women with a dog collar match? I’m cringing a bit at the thought, but it should be an interesting match and these two ladies are certainly capable of pulling it off. I’m just taking a guess, but I think Masha Slamovich will come out on top here.
Winner: Masha Slamovich
First-ever 8-4-1 Match: Nick Aldis, Mike Bailey, Bully Ray, Jonathan Gresham, Heath, Moose, PCO, Rich Swann – Match begins as an eight-man tag. The winning team faces off in a four-way battle. The final winner advances to Slammiversary.
I’m not even sure who is on what team in the 8-man part of the match, but I’ll make it simple. The winner of the entire thing, when the smoke clears, will be Nick Aldis.
Winner: Nick Aldis
Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry vs. Dirty Dango.
I haven’t seen any title changes so far, but this is where I think that will change. Hendry is a big and tough guy, but something tells me that Dirty Dango will be dancing his way to a victory and that Digital Media Championship belt.
Winner and NEW Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion: Dirty Dango
Eddie Edwards vs. Frankie Kazarian.
Another good match with two very accomplished veterans. This one could go either way, but my gut says Kazarian, so let’s go with that.
Winner: Frankie Kazarian
Sami Callihan & Jake Crist & Madman Fulton vs. The Design – Ohio Street Fight.
The Design is Deaner, Angels, and Kon. Yes, that is former AEW star Alan Angels. This should end up being chaos personified and as Gordon Solie used to say, a Pier Six Brawl. Look for plunder, confusion, referee bumps, and crazy times. Also, look for The Design to win.
Winners: The Design
And there you go. Am I right or wrong with my predictions? Let me know what you think, along with any questions, comments, or thoughts. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and stay well. I’ll see you at the matches.
