Up all night and sleep all day. Yeah, it’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it and it gives me time to think about the King of Sports, pro wrestling. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A and it’s what I do. And I do it all for you. Let’s go.

What’s your honest opinion on Sherri Martel?

A good wrestler, a great valet/manager, and one of the most unforgettable characters of Women’s wrestling. Sherri was a legit spitfire and had a great career in the AWA, WCW, and WWF. A true legend and Hall of Fame performer. When it comes to women and professional wrestling, she was truly one of the very best.

AEW introduced me to many wrestlers of becoming a fan of theirs say without that promotion I wouldn’t know who Joey Janela is. What wrestler who still & once upon a time in AEW you became a fan of?

I’m not a big fan of AEW as a whole, but because of this promotion, I’ve gotten to know more about Sammy Guevera, Alan Angels, Fuego Del Sol, The Acclaimed, Powerhouse Hobbs, and so many others. There are many very talented performers under the AEW banner. Too bad the booking isn’t all that, but there are some damn good wrestlers.

Trevor Murdoch & Mike Knox won the 2023 Crockett Cup. Thoughts?

Two strong and very underrated performers who are great representatives of the NWA and what it once was. Murdoch & Knox are two strong and talented guys who just happen to make a great tag team. I’m happy for them.

What’s your honest opinion on Terry Funk?

I was not a big fan of Terry growing up, but I always respected what he did in Japan and his early NWA days. It wasn’t until he went middle-aged and crazy in ECW that I began to enjoy his matches and character and what he brought to the ring every night. His passion and love for the business is second to none and there wasn’t much that he wouldn’t do to make a match exciting and leave the fans wanting more. The word “legend” is often overused, but in Funk’s case, it truly fits.

Do you want to see Lacey Evans as a champion in WWE?

If she can ever settle on a character and be properly pushed, I’d love to see her wearing WWE gold at some point. She’s a talented performer and I loved the sassy Southern Belle gimmick. The jury is still out on her Badass Marine gimmick, but it’s pissed off Sgt. Slaughter’s daughter so that’s a good start. I hope this one sticks and she had a good, fruitful run in the WWE with plenty of titles in her future.

Matt Hardy recently compared Orange Cassidy’s gimmick to the Undertaker. Thoughts?

To clarify, he compared how Tony Khan depends on Orange Cassidy much like Vince relied on The Undertaker back in the day, and not so much saying Orange and Taker are alike. And I can see the basis for that claim. Orange has become Tony’s go-to man that he can rely on and put in any kind of story and it sort of works, much like Vince always did with Taker. I get what Matt’s saying and he’s not wrong.

Speaking of Matt, he also now says that Jeff Hardy’s two falls at Double or Nothing were “intentional” and that Jeff slipped on purpose to get over a case of nerves. Thoughts?

And this is what you call trying to rewrite history, save face, and cover your ass. Did those “intentional slips” lead to anything significant? No, they didn’t. This was Jeff’s first match in over a year and he screwed up and slipped. No big deal because it happens. It’s like when you slip and bust your ass, but jump up immediately to see if anyone’s watching and quickly proclaim, “I meant to do that!”. Same thing here.

If Eddie Guerrero was still around today and actively wrestling, who would you like to see him have a match with any company? Also, what do you think he would think of the Rey/Dom storyline?

Eddie, if he was still alive, would be 55 now so I seriously doubt he would be wrestling on a full-time basis for anyone. Most likely, he would be a trainer or agent for WWE and semi-retired. But that being said, Eddie versus Seth Rollins or Eddie versus Austin Theory would both make for excellent matches. And as for the Rey/Dom storyline, I think he would be very proud and would be right in the middle of everything, helping Dom live up to the family motto of lying, cheating, and stealing.

Who do you consider to be the most underrated WWE (could also include WCW) talent of all time?

Of all time, I’ll go with Chris Kanyon. The man had it all. He was good in the ring, good on the mic, and quite the character. Unfortunately, his demons often got in his way, but when the question is asked, Who betta than Kaynon, the answer is obvious. Nobody!

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Nothing is off limits because I keep it real. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
