So many questions and so little time, but that’s cool. You ask and I answer. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s go.

Do you think Tony Khan’s “special announcements” help AEW or hurt it?

I think that Tony tends to overdo it with the |big announcements” and even if they are important, he does it so much, it’s more of a joke to most fans rather than something to pay attention to. With a personality like Tony, less is more. He needs to have someone else take care of the big announcements and only show up when it’s really big and not when it’s just one of his fan-boy fantasies potentially happening.

Mike Knox & Trevor Murdoch won the 2023 Crockett Cup so as a reward, how about Knox & Murdoch versus The AEW Tag Team Champions, FTR? Who wins?

If Tony Khan and Billy Corgan were on better terms, I could see this happening, but they had a bit of a fallout a couple of years ago about a show that they co-promoted and even though, in the past, there was a lot of crossover of talent between the two companies, that isn’t the case anymore. But I could see it happening on an Indy show since FTR is allowed to take outside bookings. It would be a nice gesture and probably a damn good match.

Ric Flair is the best wrestler ever. In my opinion, it’s not even close. How do you feel?

In the ring, no one can dispute what Ric was and did. He was one of the best of his era. But the best? I’d have him in the Top 5 and on any Mt. Rushmore of Pro Wrestling for sure, but so long as guys like Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkel, Bruno, etc., all exist, there will always be arguments to dispute the “best ever” claim. He’s the Nature Boy, Ric Flair. And that is most certainly enough.

Would Dirty Dick Slater have been a good fit for the Four Horsemen?

Slater actually would have been a good fit for the Original Horseman team and for the first few years. He was top-notch in the ring, a good worker, strong on the mic, and could have a good match with anyone. His (kayfabe) history with Flair, leading up to the first Starcade, might have been an issue, but the man had all the tools. Dick Slater as a Horseman? I can see that.

Mr. Perfect & Kurt Angle versus Bret & Owen Hart. Who wins?

This match would be awesome. It could go either way and it wouldn’t matter. But if I’m the one doing the booking, I’d go with The Hart Family for the win.

Thoughts and opinions on “The Killer Bees”

Jim Brunzell and B. Brian Blair was a good team that was highly underrated during their run in the WWF. Two technicians who could go with anyone, their biggest liability was their promo ability. They could talk, but it was bland and stale. Their personalities were kind of vanilla and that held them back. But two good wrestlers and a solid team for sure.

Power & Glory (Hercules Hernandez & Paul Roma) w/ Slick versus Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher. Who wins?

Nothing against Bruiser and Crusher, but the younger, fresher team the power and the glory, hence their name, would be the ones to talk that walk to the pay window if you will.

Have you ever been embarrassed to be a fan of professional wrestling?

Almost every Wednesday night when I decide to take a chance and watch an episode of Dynamite. Sometimes, we get some good stories and matches and it’s fun, but more often than not, it’s outlaw mud show wrestling at its worst. I understand exactly how Jim Cornette feels.

You’re starting a wrestling promotion and your booker will have to be either Tony Khan, Vince McMahon, or Vince Russo. Who are you picking?

Of these three, I’d go with Russo. Tony and I wouldn’t agree on anything and he’s already proven he is not a good booker. Vince McMahon wouldn’t be much better even though he does know how to book a company and has a track record behind him. He’s lost that touch though in my opinion and it would be more headaches than it’s worth. So my pick would be Vince Russo. Russo likes crash TV, too many shoot angles, and some dumb stuff, but when he has someone there to reign him in and act as an editor/filter, he can do some good stuff too. He would do his thing and I’d act as the filter, plus put in my ideas and we’d make it work.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for Kendo Sticks. Those things hurt! I’ll see you at the Concession Stand.
