It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Who should Edge face at Summerslam? (If he has a match).
My choice would be someone who is out to make a name for himself, who already has a big victory over one legend, and who would be able to use a match with Edge to keep his character strong. How about Austin Theory?
Charlotte has returned to challenge Asuka for her WWE Women’s Championship! Thoughts?
Asuka and Charlotte have a great history between them and what else should Charlotte be doing? You wouldn’t have Harley Race show up in WCW and challenge Rocky King, would you? Charlotte has done everything there is to do in WWE and challenging anyone besides the World Champion would be a big step down. We’ll get some fun interaction and at least one great match with these two so no complaints from me.
Describe Rhea Ripley in one word!
No disrespect to Miz, but the first word that comes to mind for me is, “Awesome!”.
After a 3 season run ‘YOUNG ROCK’ has officially been canceled by NBC. Thoughts?
I’m not surprised because it was in a dead spot, ratings-wise, up against Smackdown. What are wrestling fans, the main audience for both shows, going to choose? And also, to be honest, it wasn’t very good. It was okay to a point, but the bloom was off the rose and it wasn’t getting better but was instead just kind of there. After nearly twenty-five years of being the Hollywood Golden Child, The Rock is old, stale, and overexposed and just sticking his name on something doesn’t guarantee success anymore. It happens. Time catches up with everyone and it seems as if it’s catching up with The Rock now too. Sad, but true.
Owens is eventually gonna turn on Sami again for not moving on from The Bloodline, right?
I don’t know if that will be the reason, but Sami and Kevin have always had the best friend/best enemy relationship and it’s been a major part of both of their careers. It works for them and eventually, when the tag team thing starts to lose its charm, they’ll be battling again and in a feud. With those two, it’s common sense, go-too booking.
Which modern wrestlers would fit most in ECW?
Given his love of bleeding, Moxley would fit there well. A few others that would too are Eddie Kingston, Sami Callahan, and Hornswoggle.
I’d like to see a Money In The Bank Rumble, where every wrestler in the company is eligible and once the bell rings anyone can climb up the ladder, with the first person getting the briefcase winning. So what do you think?
It’s an interesting concept but sounds like it would be too crowded and confusing to book correctly and keep interesting. Essentially, it’s a World War 3 WCW event, but instead of doing the Battle Royal, it’s Money In The Bank instead. Truthfully, it sounds like a Vince Russo idea. No, just no.
What do you think about Sammy Guevera?
Sammy is a talented and charismatic guy with a face that just begs to be punched. I like Sammy, but he takes too many risks, and that high-flying stuff is way overdone. Sammy would be better, and it would be better on his body too, to slow down and learn to wrestle in the ring, without depending on spots and planned moves. Learn psychology and how to tell a story in the ring and use the big moves sparingly, so they’ll have more impact and mean something. Sammy has all the tools to be a big star, but at the rate he’s going, he’s going to be in a wheelchair when he’s 40. Slow it down and make the in-ring stuff as memorable as the personality and character and then, for Sammy, there would be no limits.
What happened to Jade’s push in AEW? She was being built as AEWs next biggest woman star but it’s all suddenly stopped! Why? Has jealousy & politics from certain women in the AEWs locker room stopped her push? Or is it Tony Con being Tony Con again?
It’s Tony being Tony, but in his defense, Jade’s character was stale and her matches were not getting any better. A change needed to be made and Khan did it. And there you go.
If John Cena & MJF are having a roast-off, who’s winning?
I’m a big fan of Max and he’s an amazing talent on the rise who should be a huge star one day. He’s great on the mic and cutting the heel promos. But if he and Cena got into a shoot-style promo fight, roasting each other, my money would be on Cena every time. Cena has been around too long, has been through far more things, and has far more resources to draw from than Max does at this point. It would be an epic battle of wits, but Cena would come out on top.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for last-minute script changes and I’ll see you at the matches.
