It’s time to talk pro wrestling. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Eric Bischoff says AEW is nothing more than a cool hobby for Tony Khan with lots of money. Is Bischoff right? Thoughts?
Bischoff is 100% on this one. Tony is a big kid with too much money who loves wrestling and wants to play promoter and booker. In all honesty, if I was a multi-billionaire, I’d probably do the same thing.
Should AEW book Simon Miller, from WhatCulture, in some capacity for their Wembley Stadium show in the UK?
I’d give that idea not only an Up, but I’d make it a golden Up! Book it, Tony Khan.
What is the future of AEW Rampage?
It’s not going anywhere. Despite the awful ratings and outright bad shows, Rampage is probably safe. Compared to other shows, wrestling is relatively cheap to produce, and Warner Brothers/Discovery seems to like Tony Khan so we’re going to have to tolerate it for a couple more seasons at least.
Should Logan Paul be added to the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder match?
It’s an interesting idea and it would add star power to the match and spike things up a bit. I can’t see Logan winning as he wouldn’t be able to commit to a full-time schedule, but adding his name to the mix would bring up the excitement level a notch or two.
What reporters or websites do you trust the most when it comes to breaking news about pro wrestling?
This one is easy. Mike Johnson at PWInsider. Mike is a legit reporter who double-checks and verifies his reports before posting. He offers his opinions, yes, but he makes sure to note what is the news and what is an opinion, something that is very rare in today’s world. And Johnson admits when he gets something wrong, something that is also very rare in today’s world. Johnson is a journalist. The rest, and I’ll include myself in this, are just people with opinions who like to talk and speculate about wrestling.
So all signs point to CM Punk returning in time for the debut of Collision. Considering all that’s happened since All Out, how would you book his return storyline? It’s obvious some things cannot be legally aired in public, but you’d think they’d have to address the drama somehow instead of pretending nothing happened.
As I write this late Saturday night, the big Punk debut has happened. And Punk delivered on the promo as was expected. He managed to slide in a few shots at The Young Bucks and other people in the company, but he didn’t dwell on it. He just clarified how he’s consistent, tired of being nice, and was/is right. He opened the door to go in several directions with future storylines, but the main focus is that he’s back and not apologizing for anything.
Triple Threat: Gunther versus Nikita Koloff versus Vader. Who wins?
The doctors because they would be patching everyone up after this match and charging the insurance companies out of the ass for medical treatments. As for the match itself, I think Vader would end up getting the win.
Carlito has allegedly told promoters that he’s signed with WWE. Thoughts?
He’s coming back and is just wrapping up his independent dates. Carlito as part of the WWE? That’s cool!
Who should Sting wrestle in his final match?
Based on the past few years, I would say Darby Allin makes the most sense, but it looks as if AEW is going to go with Chris Jericho. Jericho and Sting have never worked a program together so this might be good too.
What are your thoughts on comedy in wrestling?
I like goofy wrestling and comedy, if done correctly, adds to the magic and mystique that is professional wrestling. No one wants to see an all-comedy show, but no one wants it to be all serious and just match after match after match with no stories and no build. Mixing the two up builds the entertainment value and makes it better. Yes, give me your Bret Harts, Kurt Angle, and Anderson Brothers, but give me your R-Truth, Disco Inferno, and Orange Cassidy too.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
Ubuntu!
