Are you ready for some wrestling? It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready? Let’s go.
When you think of Pro Wrestling & hear the moniker, “World’s Strongest Man” who do you think of first: Ken Patera, Ted Arcidi, Mark Henry, or someone else?
For the World’s Strongest Man, I’d go with Mark Henry.
There are currently NO creative plans for Hit Row (Bryan Alvarez). Wasted talent?
Not so much wasted talent as more like, “Why in the hell do they have jobs?”. Both in the ring and on the mic, the entire group is just bad. They add nothing to the shows and make Omos & Great Khali look like Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan by comparison. You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shit, but where Hot Row is concerned, you can’t even get chicken shit. Yeah, they suck!
What is your favorite Kenny Omega match?
I enjoyed the matches with Christian for the Impact Championship back about a year or so ago. Most of it was, for me, Christian, but Omega held his own, wrestled seriously, and did his part too. Those were some great matches.
Ronnie Garvin versus The Original Sheik. Who wins?
If Sheik is doing the promoting in his Detroit territory, then Sheik would win, but anywhere else in the world, Ronnie Garvin should get the win.
RUSH’s AEW contract is believed to be expiring soon. What’s next? AEW, WWE, or somewhere else?
RUSH is impressive, but I don’t see him doing well in the WWE. RUSH would probably, in my opinion, if he doesn’t stay in AEW, would be best to just stick with Triple AAA in Mexico or maybe Impact Wrestling.
Who was the better heel? Roddy Piper or Larry Zbyszko?
This one is a tough call because they were both so good at getting heat and being great heels, but their styles were so different. Larry was the arrogant chicken-shit heel who would cut the great promos, but his real heat came when he got into the ring and started the stall and it would drive the crowds nuts. Piper was a heat magnet with the crazy antics and the rambling promos that went everywhere but still managed to rile the crowds. Both were so good, but it seemed to me that Piper lost his edge after he went to WWF. The Crockett/Georgia Piper was so much better and on that alone, he would be the best of all time, but he was muted a bit once he went to New York and just became a caricature of himself. Larry morphed into a face over time, but his AWA/Georgia days were beyond compare.
Missy Hyatt & Baby Doll versus The Bella Twins. Who wins?
In the ring and wrestling, The Bella Twins would probably have the edge, but I think Missy & Baby Doll would find a way, probably through a loaded Gucci purse, to get the victory.
What did you think about the Moondogs?
A fun tag team that, under the guidance of the infamous Captain Lou Albano, was one of those head-scratching, what the hell, teams that were perfect for the late 70s in the WWF. They were unbelievable and insane and the fans loved to hate them. The Moondogs were characters that could only be found in professional wrestling of that era and wouldn’t have a chance in today’s world, but at the right place and right time, they were just right.
Do you think MJF will leave to go to WWE in 2024?
No, I seriously doubt it. He talks about it too much, but unless Warner Brothers drop AEW and they don’t come up with enough money to keep MJF happy, he’s not going anywhere.
Do you think we’ll see CM Punk versus any of The Elite in a feud before 2023 ends?
I think Omega might step up and do business to make AEW a ton of money and have a classic feud with Punk before all is said and done. For the rest of the Elite though, I don’t think they have the business sense or balls to step up and be professionals.
I think WWE and AEW should work together to give us Sting vs. Taker. Make it a cinematic match (like Taker vs. New Day) and sell it to a streaming service. Give these two the ultimate send-off. Thoughts?
I think you need to put away the bottle and the smoke and come back to reality. AEW and WWE are not going to work together. And this whole idea? It’s dumb. Sorry, but it is. Oy vey!
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
Ubuntu!
