Thoughts & Predictions

Tomorrow night in London, England, from the 02 Arena, is the WWE Money In The Bank premium live event. It’s a great card on paper and I truly expect it to deliver in every manner to give the fans a classic show for the ages and a great time for all. Of course, you know this means it’s time to break out the Crystal Ball and make a few predictions. So are you ready? Let’s do this.
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Butch vs. LA Knight vs. Logan Paul vs. Ricochet vs. Santos Escobar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Damian Priest.
The smart money says that either LA Knight or Logan Paul will be coming out on top here, but I digress. I’m loving this match because there are so many wild cards here and there is no obvious favorite. Almost any of these men would be fun to see with that Money In The Bank contract and stalking the two champions. My personal favorite is Pete Dunne, aka Butch. I’m so ready to see him break away from Sheamus, go back to his NXT name and character, and have his breakout moment. Damian Priest is another one who I’d love to see win that briefcase and take that step to the next level. But most likely, it’ll be either Paul or Knight. From a PR point of view, I’d say Paul is the favorite, but if the WWE gives the fans what they want, it’ll be LA Knight. Let’s go with Knight.
Winner and NEW Mr. Money In The Bank: LA Knight.
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Bayley vs. Becky Lynch vs. Iyo Sky vs. Trish Stratus vs. Zelina Vega vs. Zoey Stark.
Iyo Sky has to be the favorite here. She is so good in that ring and has been getting a quiet, but strong push as of late. But that being said, never discount Bayley or Becky Lynch. Both women are former Champions and from a business perspective, either would make sense. And I’ll admit that I’d love to see Trish with the briefcase. She has been really good since returning to WWE and doing far better than anyone could have expected. And admit it. Trish versus Asuka or Trish versus Rhea? Both would be very intriguing and fun to see. Yeah, let’s go with Trish.
Winner and Ms. Money In The Bank: Trish Stratus.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor
This will be an awesome match and although it’s too early to have Seth lose the title, I could see WWE pulling a swerve here and Finn coming out on top. Seth is Teflon so it wouldn’t hurt him in the slightest and he could focus on his Shield “brother” and that Universal Championship, adding some intrigue in that department, while Finn and the Judgement Day could rule RAW, with Finn and Rhea as the champions, while Dom & Priest provide backup. I like the way that sounds so let’s go with a switch here.
Winner and NEW World Heavyweight Champion: Finn Balor
Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio
Unless someone (Brock) comes from out of nowhere and gets involved, this one can and will only go one way. Dom is a chickenshit heel and he’ll have Mami with him, but Cody should and will win the match. Maybe we’ll see the return of Brandi Rhodes to counter the Mami effect. Lord, I hope not. This will be a fun match and Dom will get his spots in, using the skills he picked up while in the pen, but The American Nightmare will walk out with the victory.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Undisputed Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez
Should we even pretend that there’s a chance of a title switch here? No, I prefer to stick to reality. It’ll be a good match and Liv & Raquel will get some good spots in, but the belts are staying right where they are.
Winners and STILL WWE Undisputed Women’s Champions: Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler.
Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs. The Usos.
This one has me intrigued. Do Roman and Solo win and the Usos fall in line? Do Jimmy & Jey win and the story continues? Will we see Solo turn on Roman and join his brothers? Will a surprise and new members be showing up and being added to the Bloodline? Will Paul Heyman break out his inner Stooge and do the Curley Shuffle? This story has been so good and I don’t want to see it end yet or now so I’ll go with all or any of the above. We know the match will be damn good. And I think Roman and Solo take the win here to keep it going.
Winners: Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa
Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther (c) vs. Matt Riddle
Riddle has gotten so much better since his return from his hiatus. He can take a beating or take a loss and it won’t hurt him a bit. And Gunther is just a wrestling machine. That nickname of Wrestling General suits him so well. This will be a fun match, although I’m sure that Riddle’s chest might disagree after all is said and done and it’s been chopped raw a few dozen times. Riddle will get his moments to shine, but that Intercontinental Championship is staying right where it’s at.
Winner and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Gunther
