It’s time for a few words about the World’s Greatest Sport. You have the questions and I have the answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.

With all of the garbage banned now in AEW, will their fans stop watching?

A few might stop watching, but can those truly be called fans if making the job safer and better for the wrestlers turns them off so badly? There may be a dip at first in the ratings, but the real fans, who want to see wrestling without the major stupidity added in, might give the company another chance and make up the difference.

Can MJF work as a fully-fledged babyface?

I think MJF would work well in whatever role he decides to play, be it face, heel, or tweener. I can’t really see him as a total face, but if he wanted to give it a shot, I’m sure he’d do well.

What is the BEST duo to NEVER win a championship?

The team of Ric Flair and Barry Windham. They teamed together as part of the Horsemen many times and even hold a victory over the Midnight Express at a Clash of the Champions event in what was an amazing match. Ric was always a singles champion when he and Barry were teaming so that explains why they never held gold together, but they were certainly good enough.

Chris Jericho versus Jeff Jarrett. Who wins?

I can’t remember ever seeing these two work a program together, but both are excellent wrestlers and I’m sure the match would be a good one. It’s a tough call, but I think Jarrett would end up winning.

Hindsight is 20/20, if they were in their prime today, who would you pick as the face of your promotion whether it’s AEW or WWE? Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair?

I don’t like what he’s become, but Flair is definitely the better in-ring performer and all-around professional wrestler than Hogan. I’d have to be fair to Flair and go with the Nature Boy.

Thoughts and opinions on Butch Reed.

A solid performer and a good wrestler who had all the tools. Reed was one of the best wrestlers of his era and when Bill Watts was looking for his new JYD, I’m surprised that Reed didn’t get more of a push because he certainly was capable. A very talented and strong performer who had all the tools.

Would you like to see Joey Styles return to pro wrestling? If so, where?

As a full-time announcer, probably not. Styles was good and set the bar in his time, but he’s moved on from professional wrestling and seems to be doing well so why ruin that? If it was for a one-night return and a special event, I’d enjoy seeing him back, preferably in WWE, but for more than that, not so much.

Thoughts on Prince Nana?

I had to think for a minute to remember who he actually is, but then I remembered the Jim Cornette roast and he was one of the guests. So far, in ROH, I haven’t seen anything to impress me or make him stand out. I’ve seen him mentioned in the old ROH discussions, but I don’t recall anything outstanding about him then either. Maybe he’s a nice guy and maybe he’s a good manager, but I haven’t personally seen enough to give an opinion.

James Ellsworth has mentioned that he’d like to return to WWE and do a program with Dom Dom and Rhea Ripley. Thoughts?

That would be fun to see, watching Ellsworth pursue Rhea while Dom Dom gets upset. It’s dumb comedy at its best and would probably end up with Rhea beating the hell out of Ellsworth, but I like dumb stuff and I’d watch. Book it, Triple H.

Former WWE star Jimmy Wang Yang announced he is officially retiring this upcoming weekend. Thoughts on Yang?

I remember seeing Yang in WCW as a member of the Jung Dragons, and he was impressive. In WWE, he became the ultimate redneck cowboy, who just happened to be Oriental. That was funny and he did a great job. And now, he’s calling it a career. I honestly thought that he had already retired, but I guess not. I wish him the best in his retirement and many years of happiness and good fortune.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
