Are you ready to talk pro wrestling? It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Tully Blanchard versus Dino Bravo. Who wins?
Dino was a good wrestler and could go with anyone in that ring, but I’ve got to go with Tully on this one. He’s probably using a roll of quarters, handed to him by Baby Doll, to steal the win, but he’d still find a way to get that arm raised.
Thoughts on the Owen Hart tournament in AEW?
The matches were good, but it seemed rushed and not really that big of a deal. If it had been WWE, it would have been promoted, pushed heavily, and made to seem larger than life, but with AEW, it was just kind of there. I’m glad that they’re paying homage to Owen Hart, but these first two tournaments seem rushed and just thrown together. They could do better.
Do you believe the people that say that The Young Bucks (The EVPs) have purposely buried FTR?
I believe that’s what they think and that is some credibility to what they think. It took a while for FTR to be properly used and get a major push and I’m sure that the EVPs had some say about that. I wouldn’t say that FTR was buried, but I would agree that a few roadblocks may have been intentionally placed in their path and that they didn’t get the priority treatment that one would probably expect for some reason.
Thoughts and opinions on the Great Muta.
A wrestling legend and talented performer who paved the way and set the path for Japanese wrestling with great matches, great performances, and a lot of red & green mist.
Who was your first favorite wrestler?
The first that I remember being excited for and into was Blackjack Mulligan. That big old Cowboy could talk the talk, had the character, and could handle business both in and out of the ring.
Do you think David Benoit will end up wrestling for AEW?
I answered this in my last edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A, but I’ll say it again here. I don’t know if David will start wrestling, but if he does, AEW would be a great place to begin his journey and I wish him the very best.
If you could book Sylvester Stallone in an angle, obviously in his 70s bumps would be limited if at all, how could he best be utilized in your opinion?
I’d maybe have him make an appearance, then have a heel come out and show disrespect and cause issues. Stallone bucks up and maybe gets a shove, but before it can escalate, another wrestler comes out and makes the save. Then we have a match between the two wrestlers with Stallone in the corner of the person who came to his aid. And there you go.
Tito Santana or Eddie Guerrero?
Nothing against Tito, but I’m definitely on Team Eddie.
Nick Aldis finished up his run with Impact Wrestling last night at Slammiversary. So what’s next for the former NWA Champion?
I think there is some heat between Aldis and NWA Owner Billy Corgan so a return to the NWA is probably not in the plans. I would think a discussion with Triple H in WWE is probably the most logical option. Aldis would be buried and forgotten in AEW, but in WWE, he would be given the chance to make his mark and get a decent push. I think a trip to New York is probably Aldis’s next move.
Zilla Fatu, the son of the late Umaga, recently made his in-ring debut for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion in Texas. Thoughts?
Fatu, who had already had training from his family, now sits, waits, and learns under the guidance of the former 5-time WCW Champion and bides his time for the call from Triple H and membership in the Bloodline as the story builds and continues.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s call it quits for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for wild Samoans and I’ll see you at the matches.
