You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Who would you like to see Dom Mysterio defend the WWE NXT North American Championship against?
So far, Dom has defended the title against Butch and Sami Zayn so in less than two weeks, Dom has defended his title more often than Roman Reigns has since Wrestlemania and looks like a fighting champion. I’d like to see him take on Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston. Fighting former World Champions would look great and add to his credibility and character.
Curt Hennig or Nick Bockwinkel?
Curt was awesome, but Bockwinkel was so smooth and good, I’d have to go with him on this one.
Vickie Guerrero is now officially a free agent and through with AEW. Would you like to see her return to WWE and do a story with Dom Mysterio?
Given the issues between Vickie and her daughter, who has accused Vickie’s husband of sexual assault, I can’t see WWE bringing Vickie in for anything right now. Once that matter has been cleared up, the most I can see is maybe a Vickie-Dom encounter backstage at an event. When Dom was just getting started as Con-Dom, a Vickie Guerrero encounter would have been excellent and fun to see. Now though, he doesn’t need her.
LA Knight is the most over wrestler in the business on any promotion today, it’s not even close. If/When WWE decides to run with him, should he be the one to dethrone Roman Reigns?
LA Knight is popular and getting some great reactions from the fans, but the most over in any promotion? I’d love to see what you’re smoking or drinking. I think many others, such as The Usos, Dom, MJF, CM Punk, etc, would disagree. And be the one to beat Roman? Talk about a move from out of left field. No, I don’t think so.
Eric Young asked for a release from WWE so he wouldn’t have to work with Vince McMahon. Thoughts?
Eric thinks that Vince doesn’t get him and wouldn’t know how to use him and history has shown that Eric was right. I can’t blame him for asking for that release. Career-wise, it was probably the smart move.
Thoughts on Tatanka?
Chris Chavis, aka Tatanka, is a WWF talent from the 80s who is from just a few miles down the road from where I’m sitting right now, a local guy. And he was a good wrestler who represented the Natives of North Carolina very well during his time in the WWF. I met him once and he was a nice guy, very friendly and talkative. A solid wrestler, I think the whole cartoony world that was WWF at the time hurt him more than helped and while his run was impressive, he could have been more. He’s still in great shape and makes appearances at conventions and shows, and is signed to a WWE Legend’s Deal.
PN News versus One Man Gang. Who wins?
News would quickly learn that he’s not nearly in the same league as the One Man Gang. Yo baby, yo baby, yo!
Ric Flair is making noise about how Steve “Mongo” McMichael belongs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Thoughts?
While I often disagree with Flair on a lot of things these days and cringe when I see him comment on things, this is one case where he’s absolutely right and correct. Mongo’s NFL record is top-notch and surpasses that of many players already in the Football Hall of Fame. Mongo wasn’t a great wrestler and his time as a Horseman will get mixed reviews, but when it came to his role in the NFL, no one can argue or dispute that. It would be nice to see Mongo, as he continues his battle against ALS, get the credit he’s due. Give the man his flowers already. Flair is 100% correct on this.
Is ROH to AEW as WWECW was to WWE?
Pretty much, but at least the WWEs version of ECW had a spot on national television and drew an audience for a while. Whatever it is that Tony Khan is doing with ROH, they can’t even claim that much.
If you could have a conversation with any pro wrestler about anything but pro wrestling, what would it be?
I’d like to talk to Matt Cardona about action figures, Dylan Postl (Hornswoggle) about little people, MJF about cats, and Disco Inferno about the clowns on Twitter and in politics.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to share, like, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for today. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
