Thoughts & Predictions

Coming up on Sunday is the WWE/NXT Great American Bash Premium Live Event, live from Cedar Park, Texas, and airing on the WWE Network and Peacock. Are you ready for a few predictions? Let’s do this.
Eight-Person Mixed Tag Team Match
Dragon Lee, Nathan Frazer, Yulisa León, and Valentina Feroz vs. The Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Jakara Jackson, and Lash Legend)
This is the one match where I’m not as familiar with everyone as I should be. I know Dragon Lee and I know of Noam Dar, but as for the rest of the two teams, I’m somewhat lost. Noam Dar though is so underrated and one hell of a talent. Dragon Lee recently worked at AEW and made an impact there, but now is making his mark in NXT and I’m sure we’ll be seeing some good things from him in the months and years to come. This match? It’s just a random guess, but I’ll go with Meta-Four to take the win. I’m not sure why, but it just feels right.
Winners: Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend).
Triple Threat for the NXT North American Championship
“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio (c) (with Rhea Ripley) vs. Wes Lee vs. Mustafa Ali
I want to see Dom keep the North American Championship, but this would also be a great time to give Ali the belt and elevate his character for a while, so I’m torn on this one. It’s a tough call, but when I think about how hot the fans will be if Dom manages to steal another win and keep the title. Let’s go with that. After some Mami interference, Dom steals a pin and gets the win, keeping the belt.
Winner and STILL NXT North American Champion: Dom Mysterio w/ Rhea Ripley
Submission match for the NXT Women’s Championship
Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Thea Hail (with Chase University (Andre Chase and Duke Hudson))
I can’t see Stratton submitting, but I can see shenanigans and interference from the Chase Academy to force a situation where Stratton has no alternative but to submit. For some reason, I’m sensing a title switch here.
Winner and NEW NXT Women’s Champion: Thea Hall
NXT Tag Team Championship Match
Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) (c) (with Joe Coffey) vs. The Family (Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo)
This one should be a good, fun match with lots of crazy spots, lots of confusion, and lots of plunder. I don’t think this match will be up to the standards of FTR versus White/Robinson last week, but I have a feeling that Gallus and The Family might come pretty damn close. I don’t feel a title change here so look for Gallus to find a way to win and keep their gold belts.
Winners and STILL NXT Tag Team Champions: Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang)
Gable Steveson vs. Baron Corbin
This is Gable Steveson’s debut match for NXT and he’s a gold medal Olympian. He’s not losing here.
Winner: Gable Steveson
Weapons Wild Match
Roxanne Perez vs. Blair Davenport
This is the crazy match where we see weapons, plunder, and tables, oh my. That convenience store scrap was awesome and this should be more of the same. Perez is on track to reclaim the NXT Women’s Championship at some point, and I think this is where that journey steps into high gear. Davenport will put up a good fight for sure, but Perez is walking out the winner.
Winner: Roxanne Perez
NXT Championship Match
Carmelo Hayes (c) (with Trick Williams) vs. Ilja Dragunov
Both of these men belong on the main roster and I would love to see Dragunov aligned with Gunther and Imperium at some point. This match will main event and steal the show, as it should. Carmello hasn’t really had the chance yet to show what he can do as the NXT Champion and it’s too early, in my opinion, for a title switch. I wouldn’t be surprised to see former Champion Bron Breakker get involved at some point, but I don’t think that will affect the outcome. Look for Hayes to retain his title and get a big victory.
Winner and STILL NXT Champion: Carmello Hayes w/ Trick Williams
And there you go. If any other matches are added over the next 48 hours, I’ll come back and update this post, but for now, I think that’s it. So are you planning on watching Sunday night? What are your predictions and thoughts? Let me know in the comments, along with any other thoughts or questions you might have. Be sure to share, like, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap this up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches. Be there!
