More of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. And remember, I do this for you. Let’s go.
The Billy Gunn retirement. Storyline or the real deal?
It’s hard to tell because the tweets from his wife and comments from others suggest it’s real, but it was kind of anti-climatic and my gut says that it’s the start of something more and is something to keep an eye on. Billy Gunn has had an amazing career and I’d love to see a final match with some build to it. Who knows if it’s real or not? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Tyrus recently stated that he will retire if he loses the NWA Championship to EC3. Thoughts?
Tyrus is 50 years old and has a full-time job with Fox News, as well as his professional wrestling career, so seeing him retiring from active in-ring competition would not be a major surprise. It would put over EC3 as being the man who “retired” Tyrus, much as Larry Zbyszko claimed to retire both Nick Bockwinkle and Bruno Sammartino. It adds to the build for the match and the intrigue. Whatever Tyrus decides to do, best wishes to the Champion.
Harley Race versus The Undertaker. Who wins?
If the match took place in the WWE, Taker would win, but anywhere else in the world, Harley would find a way and come out on top.
Gene Anderson versus Bobby Eaton. Who wins?
The two “quiet men” of two of the greatest tag teams of all time, this would be an epic match that few would pay attention to at first but would steal any show. It would be a great match. And Bobby Eaton would take home the victory.
Is Ricky Starks the modern-day equivalent of The Rock?
As much as I like Ricky Starks, and he is a talented young man and future big star, he’s not The Rock. There is only one Rock and there will only ever be one Rock. Ricky Starks is the next Ricky Starks and that’s all he needs to be.
Konnan says Bray Wyatt has too many problems and WWE should release him again. Thoughts?
I hate to agree because I’d love to see Bray make the big comeback and be the big star that he used to be and could be again, but unless Bray can get over his issues, Konnan is right. Better for WWE to cut their losses and move on.
Should WWE make SummerSlam two nights instead of one, as they’ve done with Wrestlemania?
I wish they would because if SummerSlam is supposed to be the biggest event of the Summer and the WWEs number two show, it just makes sense to give it the Mania treatment and make it a big event. I’d also suggest moving the Hall of Fame Inductions from Mania to SummerSlam weekend, with the Induction on Thursday, Smackdown on Friday, SummerSlam on Saturday and Sunday, and RAW on Monday to round things out. It would be a great event and makes sense in the big picture of things, at least in my opinion.
It’s Shark Week so I have to ask. Shark Boy versus The Shark (John Tenta). Who wins?
Shark Boy would have to win since The Shark proclaimed, “I am not a fish!”. Tenta would win in a shoot, but this is wrestling so Shark Boy would put the bite on him and steal the win.
Who should write a wrestling book?
Lisa Moretti, aka Ivory, would have a great book. Stories of GLOW, her WWE career, Tough Enough, the Hall of Fame, etc, plus she has no problems speaking her mind regardless of the consequences. It would be epic.
Are you Team FTR or Team COLE/MJF?
Team FTR. Cole and MJF will be breaking up sooner rather than later. FTR retained their titles on AEW Collision and the story continues.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, stay good and be well, my friends. Take care and I’ll see you at the matches.
