It’s not your Daddy’s wrestling Q&A. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Disability Advocates have protested and attempted to stop wrestler/promoter Short Sleeve Sampson from running an event in Sonoma County, CA, called “Midget Wrestling Warriors”, claiming that the event promotes discrimination and intolerance against little people. They’ve already had to change the name of the show to Short Sleeve Sampson’s Wrestling Warriors. Thoughts?
The woken advocates are telling little people that they can’t call themselves midgets or promote midget wrestling because it offends people who are not little people/midgets. What the hell? It’s just crazy that in their efforts to “protect” people who have dwarfism, they are trying to put these same people out of work and keep them from making a living doing what they love, the sport of professional wrestling. I think Sampson and the wrestlers who work for him can better decide what is appropriate better than a group of “advocates” who are just looking for excuses and a chance to promote victimhood rather than advocate those “victims” standing up for themselves and making a perceived insult into something positive. Get the hell over it already and leave Sampson and his group alone.
Thoughts on James J. Dillon?
One of the best wrestling managers of the territory and Monday Night Wars era, who was more of an advocate than a manager, but whatever he was, always did it right and with class. J.J. wasn’t quite as flashy as some of the other managers, but he added an air of seriousness to the product and was absolutely one of the best.
Should LA Knight be the guy who ends Gunther’s Intercontinental title reign? I think the program would be good, it would be a big rub for LA Knight and Gunther is just about ready to move up to challenge for a World title.
While LA Knight versus Gunther would be fun to see, I’d much rather see LA Knight and Austin Theory go a few rounds and if Knight is to wear secondary gold, that United States Championship would be a great place to start. Knight versus Gunter would be good, but Knight versus Theory would be better.
There are rumors that retired wrestler/current WWE agent Jason Jordon may return to action to help former partner Chad Gable & Otis take on Imperium. Thoughts?
If Jordon can be medically cleared and wants to do it, I think it’d be a great way to give the crowd a big pop and give Jordon a chance to get one last run, something that the nature of his injuries didn’t allow him when his earlier run as a wrestler was forced to end. I’d like to see it.
Who will have had the better career in 5 years, Austin Theory or Hangman Adam Page?
It’s a tough call because I’m not a fan of Page, but I do like Theory. That being said, it’s obvious that Theory’s star has dropped in WWE since Triple H took over from Vince, and unless he can do something to alter his momentum and win Hunter over, I seriously doubt he’ll even still be in WWE in five years. Adam Page though, he’s friends with the Elite and one of Tony Khan’s favorites in AEW. He’s already been AEW Champion and I can easily see him holding that title again in the future. So the better career in five years, I’ll have to say Hangman Adam Page.
If only one could stay in AEW, who would you pick Britt Baker or Saraya?
AEW should keep Britt Baker. She’s not what she was lately, but she can get back to the top and has a ton of potential to be a big star for the company. Saraya isn’t what she was in WWE and has lost so much, but doesn’t even seem to want to try and get better. Khan got sold a bill of goods when he hired her and all he’s gotten for his money is excuses. She would leave and it wouldn’t be any kind of loss.
Beetlejuice isn’t available. Who is Jeff Jarrett’s greatest rival?
This is tough because I’ve seen Jarrett wrestle so many people, be it in Memphis, WWE, WCW, TNA, or AEW, but no one stands out as a great rivalry or feud that I can recall off the top of my head. The only match that stands out for me is against Chyna in the Good Housekeeping Match where he lost the Intercontinental Championship to her before heading to WCW. So with that in mind, I’ll say Chyna.
Kurt Angle thinks he would’ve been in the GOAT conversation if he never left WWE. Do you agree?
I’ll agree with Kurt on this one. I think the years at TNA did impact his career, more in a negative way than anything else, plus if he had stayed in the WWE, he would have gone to rehab earlier and gotten clean from his demons earlier, which would have helped his career as well. So would staying at WWE have been more beneficial than not? I would say yes.
Not including DX. the nWo, The Horsemen, or The Bloodline, what are the five best wrestling factions of all time?
So take out the top groups and we’ll decide who the best five other factions are. I can do this. For me personally, the other five top wrestling factions, off the top of my head, would be The Dangerous Alliance, Bobby Heenan’s Family, Evolution, The House of Humpedrdink, and Skandor Akbar’s Devastation, Inc.
Randy Savage & Queen Sherri versus Dom Mysterio & Mami. Who wins?
While I think Rhea Ripley could probably take out Sherri Martel, I don’t think Dom stands a snowball’s chance in hell, yet, versus The Macho King. Macho Man and Sherri would take the victory. Oh yeah!
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to share, like, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
