Always keeping it real, it’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Anything goes and send me the questions. I’ll find the answers. Let’s do this.
Adrian Street passed away today. Thoughts on The Exotic One.
A great wrestler, a legit shooter, and an amazing character who was way ahead of his time. Along with wife/valet Miss Linda, Street played the very swishy character who would piss people off and kick their ass at the same time. And he did this in Europe and then later, across the south-eastern United States in the seventies and eighties, when homophobia was at its worst. He was so in-your-face and did an amazing job of being the only true badass in pro wrestling who also wore make-up, feathered boas, and lots of pinks. A true legend.
Dusty Rhodes & Nikita Koloff versus Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins. Who wins?
The Super Powers versus The Shield. This is a dream match for any true wrestling fan and it would be off the charts by any definition. It’d be a great clash of styles and just imagine the live crowd response. The power of Nikita. The flashy charisma of Dusty. The great technique of Seth. And the methodical ass-beating of the Tribal Chief. It would be incredible. I think Dusty & Nikita would win by a count-out or DQ.
Brock Lesnar versus Dr. Death Steve Williams. Who wins?
As tough as Dr.Death was, never bet against The Beast, Brock Lesnar. Brock would win in a bloody, brutal encounter.
How do you rank “Number One” Paul Jones as a manager?
Paul Jones was a wrestling legend in the late sixties and seventies, but as time and injuries took their toll, he made the transition from wrestler to manager. And Paul was good. He wasn’t great and on a national stage, such as today’s WWE or AEW, he would never work. He wasn’t the most charismatic guy, but he was solid, took the occasional bump, and was known for managing weird and unique talents. Jones’ feud against Jimmy Valiant lasted for years and was the stuff of legends. Paul was a perfect fit as a manager for Crockett Wrestling at the time. And Steamboat turned on him. He repeated this until the day he died and I believe him.
Grayson Waller & The Rock have been going back and forth on Twitter. Do you think The Rock will show up at SummerSlame to confront Waller?
I don’t know if it will happen or not, but it would be great if it did. I’d like to see it. And The Rock isn’t working due to the Actor/Writers’ strike.
If you could create a stable of any current active wrestlers in AEW, who would it consist of?
A stable of current AEW wrestlers to be managed by me? My wrestlers would be Aaron Solow, Powerhouse Will Hobbs, Alan Angels (He’s currently in Impact, but he could be brought back.), Fuego Del Sol, Sammy Guevera, and Tay Conti. Yeah, I want to manage the VLOG crew.
Jim Cornette and Captain Lou Albano get into an argument with Bobby Heenan and Paul Heyman. They agree to settle their differences with a Five on Five WarGames match with each pair of managers selecting five of their clients to represent them in the match. Who would each manager choose and which team would win?
A team managed by Cornette and Albano versus a team put together by Heenan and Heyman. That would be fun to see Heyman and The Brain together, especially after Heyman’s comments the other day on ESPN. But that’s a comment for another time. Let’s make some teams. Corny and the Captain’s team would be The Midnight Express, obviously, and from the Captain, The Samoans, and Ivan Koloff. Heyman and The Brain would be Brock Lesnar & Roman Reigns from Heyman, plus from The Brain, Nick Bockwinkel, Andre the Giant, and Paul Orndorff. And after these two teams collided in the double-cage event, Heenan and Heyman would be the pair managing the winning teams.
Would you like to see Chris Adonis (Chris Masters) back in WWE or AEW?
I would love to see Masters back in the WWE, especially after the way he’s grown and developed in the past few years on the Indy scene and the NWA. He’s in his prime now and “The Masterpiece”, especially with the upcoming return of his long-time friend/partner Carlito, on the horizon, would make a great addition to the current WWE roster. Are you listening, Triple H? Hire this guy.
Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs The Fiend Bray Wyatt. Who wins?
A tough call here, but I think that Bray Wyatt, aka The Feind, would end up getting the win.
Triple H was recently quoted as calling AEW a “secondary promotion”. Thoughts?
Well, compared to the WWE, AEW is. Tell me when I’m lying. Comparing the two, WWE has better ratings, better live crowds, higher merchandise sales, and makes far more money by far. It’s not even close. Triple H is just telling the truth.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Also be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects. I’ll see you at the matches.
