It’s another glorious day of playing catch up with loads of questions about the World’s Greatest Sport. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A and I’m Doug, your host with the most. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Which promotion would you want to return more? Extreme Championship Wrestling Or Jim Crockett Promotions NWA?

I know that ECW has its fans, but I was born, bred, and raised in North Carolina, the home of Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling and JCP. I’d love to have David Crockett reach out, get some investors, and bring back JCP. It would make me a happy camper.

If you were to book John Cena’s final match, Who would you book him against?

It’s a tough call, but how about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in a double-retirement match at Wrestlemania? Let both men go out in style.

Rey Mysterio is the new U.S. Champion over Austin Theory. Thoughts?

I’m not sure about having Rey as the champion, but I understand the need to take the belt off of Austin Theory for a while. He’s grown stale and needs some tweaking of his character and reinventing himself to get his momentum back. Rey probably wouldn’t have been my pick, but he’s been on a roll as of late and this win, achieved as a result of Santos Escobar not being cleared to wrestle after being attacked by Theory, can be used to build tension and a storyline between Rey and his LWO partners. I’m not crazy about it, but I can understand why it happened.

Jey Uso has been moved to the Alumni Section on WWE.com. Thoughts?

Jey gets a vacation for a few weeks while Jimmy gets to mope around and Roman gets to gloat. Look for Rikishi in the next few weeks. And the story of The Bloodline continues.

Could you see Shinsuke Nakamura as a World Champion in WWE?

A few years ago when Shinsuke won the Royal Rumble and was getting heavily pushed and was on a role, maybe, but not so much anymore. If Shinsuke happens to win the World Championship now, it would be just like another Jinder Mahal or Miz reign, done as a transitional move to shock the WWE audience and nothing more. Shinsuke is worthy as a character and wrestler, but he has no momentum anymore, and winning the World Championship would make no sense.

One of the legendary wrestling icons Dory Funk Jr, is the second-longest NWA heavyweight champion in history. Your thoughts on Dory Funk Jr?

I had the honor of seeing Dory wrestle many times back in the JCP days and even had his autograph in a scrapbook, now long gone. He’s a good, solid wrestler, a nice guy to speak and talk to, and a great trainer and wrestling legend. While not as charismatic as his younger brother Terry, Dory was and is the real deal.

Hulk Hogan & Blackjack Mulligan versus Kenny Omega & Hangman Adam Page. Who wins?

Mulligan and Hogan would walk all over and destroy Omega and Page. Of that, I have no doubt. And then after the match, Mulligan would turn on Hogan, lay him out, and leave him a bloody mess after applying the dreaded claw.

What’s the deal with Eric Bischoff constantly slamming AEW? Jealousy or mad because he can’t get a job there?

Eric isn’t slamming AEW, but merely speaking the truth. Eric doesn’t need a job, as he has many successful ventures he’s involved in. He’s just giving his opinion, based on what he’s witnessing, what he’s experienced, and what he feels is and isn’t good, for both AEW and WWE. If Eric is “constantly slamming AEW” as you say, the reason is that they’re doing stupid things that don’t make sense. It’s not slamming if it’s true and based on the majority of the things I’ve seen and heard about AEW, from many different sources that I trust, Eric is right 95% of the time. He’s giving a knowledgeable opinion. Nothing more.

Triple threat: Paul Orndorff, Ivan Koloff, Jake Roberts. Who you got?

Of this threesome, I have to go with Uncle Ivan.

Triple threat: Mr. Wrestling II, The Masked Superstar (Bill Eadie), The Assassin (Jody Hamilton). Who you got?

As for this one, the two heels, Superstar and Assassin, would get their signals crossed and turn on each other. Mr Wrestling II would pick up the victory.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Please like, share, and subscribe. Thank you. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for loaded masks and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
