And here we are with another slobber knocker of a Q&A, it’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. You have the questions and I’ll provide the answers, or at least my opinion. Are you ready to do this? Let’s go.
Logan Paul recently said that he’d like to team with Dom Mysterio to become the most hated tag team in wrestling. Thoughts?
Can you imagine the heat and the boos this twosome would get? It would be interesting and fun to see, but just make sure that Rhea Ripley, aka Mami, is part of the package. For a one-shot, I’d like to see this happen. Paul is right. It would be huge.
Would WWE be bold enough to let Jey Uso wrestle in Japan (or whatever other promotion they are cool with/talent scout from) to appear like he actually quit/he can show clips to the fans of his matches (against guys WWE already have interest)?
I don’t think it’ll happen, but it would be cool to let Jey work a few dates to play up on his “quitting” the WWE. It wouldn’t be New Japan since they’re so closely aligned with AEW, but WWC in Puerto Rico would be a strong possibility. Maybe Triple AAA since Konnan is the booker there and would look after Jey as well, but it would add to the story and be fun to see.
Thoughts on The Bunny (Allie). Should she get a push?
She’s a homegrown AEW talent and she’s not totally bad, so sure, why not. She’s better than most of the other girls in AEW and I can see the fans getting behind her. Sure thing. Push her, Tony.
When you were a young wrestling fan, before you learned it was kayfabe, what one storyline/angle had you upset the most?
The whole break-up with Ric Flair and Blackjack Mulligan, aka The Hat & The Robe. Yeah, both guys were heels, but they were such a good team, and the young mark that I was, they were my favorite team at the time. I was 11 years old. And seeing these two men, who were so close, break up and fight, was heartbreaking.
Johnny B. Badd versus Jinder Mahal. Who wins?
Johnny B. Badd, aka Marc Mero, was a good wrestling and entertaining guy, but Jinder is a former WWE Champion. I think Jinder would win.
Could Brock Lesnar ever sign with AEW?
He could, but I doubt it would ever happen. He would cost far more money than I think even Tony Khan would be willing to pay, plus Brock has it made in WWE and he knows it. I can’t see Brock making the jump, especially at 45 years of age. I believe he’s a WWE guy till the end.
What are your thoughts on CM Punk’s recent actions?
Which ones? Texting Adam Page to apologize for the promo he cut on him, confronting Ryan Nemeth, who had insulted him on social media, giving smart advice to Jungle Boy, or allegedly blocking people from being on Collision, which was revealed by Mike Johnson of PWInsider to be fake news despite what Meltzer claims. I think Punk is trying to do well by AEW and Tony Khan has finally realized that Punk, the only one who is trying to move past the whole Punk/Elite BS, is too important to lose so he’s appeasing him.
Bully Ray recently commented about Enzo Amore that “companies won’t hire him because they can’t control him”. Thoughts?
Bully is not wrong, but the big companies, WWE and AEW, can’t afford to have a loose cannon as part of their team. He’s got more baggage than he’s worth and the cons of hiring him far outweigh the pros.
When The Rock is inevitably inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, who should induct him?
I’d go with either Triple H or Stone Cold Steve Austin to do the honors. Or maybe former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia. She always did like the People’s strudel.
I saw something about Konnan being brought into WWE to take over as the leader of the LWO. Do you think this will end up happening?
This won’t happen. Konnan is too busy with his podcast, plus his booking duties for Triple AAA in Mexico. Plus Konnan has quite a few health problems and working a full schedule, or even just the TV tapings and PPV would probably be too much of a strain on him. If anyone was to be brought in to take over the LWO, my guess would be Chavo Guerrero, especially since the show, Young Rock has been canceled and he’s probably looking for work. Konnan would be great, but I don’t feel he’d be able to do it for long. So this rumor probably isn’t true.
Kevin Sulivan said recently that he thinks AEW should hire Ryback. Thoughts?
Ryback hasn’t wrestled since 2018 and he has heat with CM Punk. Added to the rest of the baggage that Ryback would bring with him, I can’t see this happening. Ryback needs to just take the advice of his own poll and retire already.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
