It’s time to do that wrestling thing. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your host with the most, and I’m here to answer all your wrestling-related questions. Let’s do this.
Triple H recently said that the WWE Women’s Division gets the same amount of thought and work as the men in WWE. Do you believe him?
Yes and no. I believe that the wrestlers that he perceives to draw an audience get equal thought and priority, but it’s not based on the gender of the wrestlers, but rather who he feels the fans want to see. I think Rhea and Gunther get the same quality of attention, while Nikki Cross & Butch do not. It’s not the division or gender that matters, but how important they are to what HHH wants to show.
AJ Mendez, aka AJ Lee, announced that her deal with WOW has expired. So what do you think is next for AJ Lee?
So far, she has written a best-selling book, plus worked as a screenwriter for a movie, so I’m assuming that she’ll continue to work in those fields. Her husband, CM Punk, confirmed some medical issues a few months ago, so I doubt she’ll be wrestling any matches. Maybe a few appearances as CM Punk’s valet/backup if Tony Khan throws enough money in her direction and she wants to do some wrestling stuff, but I think for the most part, her writing will take precedence.
Big E recently revealed that doctors have advised him to never wrestle again. Thoughts? So what’s next for Big E?
I would say most likely a role in WWE as a commentator and part of the pre-show panels at WWE PLEs. Maybe a role as a coach or agent as well. I don’t see him leaving WWE, but I’m sure that there will be plenty of opportunities for him.
If you could bring back any old territory which one would it be?
I was raised in North Carolina and grew up watching Jim Crockett Promotions and the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling territory, so naturally, that would be the one I’d like to see brought back in some fashion.
Triple Threat. Johnny Valentine, Jack Brisco, Ricky Steamboat. Who you got?
For this one, I’d have to go with Jack Brisco.
Shoot Fight: Brock Lesnar versus Floyd Mayweather. Who wins?
Mayweather would do what he does best and run, but once Brock managed to catch him, Floyd would be just another victim for The Beast.
If Triple H hadn’t been forced to retire from in-ring competition, who do you think would have been his perfect final opponent?
HBK would have been perfect, but he’s long been retired from active in-ring wrestling so he wouldn’t be available. Given their history and past together, I’d probably go with Randy Orton.
When Bray Wyatt returns, who should be his first feud back?
Bobby Lashley. It was teased before Bray vanished and WWE needs to follow up, maybe with The Hurt Business taking on the rumored Wyatt 6.
If you could host a panel discussion with 5 wrestling legends about the best things about professional wrestling, complete with a fan Q&A, who would you want on your panel?
I’d go with Larry Zbyszko, Baby Doll, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, and Jim Cornette.
Bull Nakano versus Awesome Kong. Who wins?
This match would be good. Very physical and brutal, but two of the best big women of their eras. And I’d pick Awesome Kong for the win.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Also be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches. I’m gone.
