More of the new stuff. It’s the same as the old stuff. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Do you think WWE would ever release a Midnight Express documentary or DVD?
Back when the Network was new and growing, I think it may have been a possibility, but as things are now, it’s not likely. I could see Jim Cornette getting together with Stan, Dennis, Bobby’s family, etc., and some Hollyweird people and self-producing a documentary on the Midnight Express. That would be incredible to see and no one would be more qualified.
Thoughts on the Don Callis/Chris Jericho “painting segment” on Dynamite?
I get the whole Jericho accepts Callis’s offer and Callis is surprised, but an oil painting? Really? That’s a bit over the top and too obvious to show that Callis thought Jericho would say no. It doesn’t make sense and blows out any sense of reality or logic from the whole segment. Even Vince Russo’s stuff didn’t have that many holes in the story they were trying to tell. From guys like Jericho and Callis, I expected much better. An oil painting? Really? Oy vey!
Right to Censor versus The Judgement Day. Who wins?
Finn Balor, Dom Mysterio, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley versus Stevie Richards, The Goodfather, Val Venis, and Ivory. This match would be awesome to see and would steal the show at any event. As much as I loved RTC, this one would go to Judgement Day in the end.
Legendary Lou Thesz and Paul Boesch. What are your thoughts on these legendary names?
Lou Thesz was a legendary wrestler. Paul Boesch was a legendary promoter in Houston, TX. Both were before my time, but I’ve never heard anything bad about either man and they’re both iconic figures in the history of professional wrestling.
Will Saraya be the next AEW Women’s Champion?
She doesn’t deserve it and she’s not nearly as capable as she once was, but the upcoming title match is at Wembley Stadium and Saraya is the returning hometown hero, and having her win would make for a great moment. So yes, she’s the next champion.
Triple H lets you run WWE Creative for a day. What’s the first thing you’re doing?
One day wouldn’t really be enough to make a big impact, but I’d have a complete list of the entire roster brought before me and then sit down with the Creative staff and person by person, go over every wrestler under contract and attempt to establish a role, story, and plan for them. Back in the Attitude Era, almost everyone on the roster had a purpose and was used to some extent. It’s been done before and can be done again. I’d try to do that.
With the birth of the internet, there are pretty much no secrets left. Everybody knows everything, pretty much and we see there’s a difference between the wrestler and the character they portray. So do you miss “kayfabe”?
I miss it a great deal. While I’m a big proponent of social media and the internet, I liked it better, so far as wrestling goes, when there was mystery and surprises. It was a better time.
So, many believe that the Road Warriors were the best tag team of all time. Can you pair any two wrestlers that could beat them?
The Road Warriors were a top team, but the best of all time? That is very arguable. As for two wrestlers that could beat them, how about The Undertaker and Kane? How about Brock Lensar & Gunther? How about Harley Race and Meng? The Anderson Brothers? TheUsos? Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins? FTR?
What’s the future for Edge?
Whatever he decides that he wants to do would be best for him and his family. I’m expecting a Legend’s Deal with WWE, a role as an Ambassador for the company, and eventually a return to the WWE ring for one last match and a fitting retirement.
Is Triple H a Top 10 Wrestler of All Time?
All time covers a lot of time and people and while Hunter is a wrestling icon and legend, I don’t think he quite makes the Top 10. If you say of the past twenty years, he might slide in, or of the Attitude Era, he would be a no-brainer and have a spot. But all time? I don’t think so.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s close up shop for the day.
