Coming up tonight, Sunday, August 27, 2023, is Impact Wrestling’s latest PPV, 2023 Emergence. It will be airing live from the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and will be featured on Impact Plus and YouTube. So, did you say predictions? I’m keeping it short and sweet due to time restraints, but let’s do this.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Trinity vs. Deonna Purrazzo.

I had already forgotten that Trinity Fatu, aka Naomi, is the current Impact Wrestling Knockout’s Champion. It’s too soon to take the belt off of the former WWE star so look for Trinity to retain.

Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion: Trinity

IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA vs. Jake Something.

I like Jake Something, but he’s not ready to be the world champion, even if it is just the New Japan version. Sanada retains.

Winner and STILL IWGP World Champion: SANADA

Impact Champion Alex Shelley & KUSHIDA & Chris Sabin & Josh Alexander vs. X-Division Champion Lio Rush & Bully Ray & Moose & Brian Myers.

I was wondering why there wasn’t a defense of the Impact Championship and then I saw this match. Okay, that explains everything. I thought Lio Rush was injured, but I guess I was mistaken. This should be one hell of an old-school slobber-knocker brawl. I expect we’ll see D-Von Dudley show up and get involved as well since he and Bubba are supposed to be teaming up for the Impact Wrestling 1000th show tapings this upcoming week. I’ll put my money on the Alex Shelley team.

Winners: Alex Shelley, KUSHIDA, Chris Sabin, and Josh Alexander.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champions Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly vs. The Death Dolls vs. The Coven vs. Savannah Evans & Gisele Shaw.

More chaos from the ladies, but the champions aren’t losing those titles anytime soon.

Winners and STILL Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly.

Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions Subculture vs. The Rascalz.

The belts are staying right where they are at with the champs.

Winners and STILL Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions: Subculture

Back to School Match inside Killer Kowalski’s former wrestling academy: Frankie Kazarian vs. Eddie Edwards.

Look for a prerecorded cinema-style match, filmed at the former school of wrestling great Killer Kowalski, by two of his former pupils. This one should be different and fun and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a cameo or two from some of Kowalski’s other former students. No Triple H unfortunately, but anyone else can and will probably appear. I’ll go for Eddie Edwards to win.

Winner: Eddie Edwards

Eric Young vs. Deaner – No DQ.

Eric Young is just starting to get into his groove and is destined to be the next big hope for Impact Wrestling as the returning son. Deaner is damn good and this should be a great match, but Eric isn’t losing here.

Winner: Eric Young

Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Kenny King vs. Johnny Swinger.

We need to see at least one title change on this show and I’ve got a feeling that this match may be the one. Swinger seems to be having a career resurgence and what better way to keep it going than a Digital Media Championship reign?

Winner and NEW Impact Wrestling Social Media Champion: Johnny Swinger

Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Alan Angels.

A in the chats for Alan, but Bailey is a former World Champion. I’d love to see Angels win, but it’s not happening here.

Winner: Speedball Mike Bailey

The Good Hands vs. Joe Hendry & Yuya Uemura.

I’m not even sure who Yuya Uemura is, but the Good Hands name reminds me too much of a commercial for All State Insurance. Joe Hendry is always impressive so I’ll go with him and Yuya for this one.

Winners: Joe Hendry & Yuya Uemura

And there you go with my predictions for tonight’s Impact Wrestling event, Emergence. So am I right or wrong? What are your thoughts and predictions? Let me know in the comments.
