More catching up with the only wrestling Q&A that matters, the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
With Punk now not only causing issues with old enemies/allies, and now causing issues with the pillars and future stars, is it time to cut him loose? Jack Perry has a much longer future than Punk or even FTR, so do you pull a WCW and keep the old guys or not?
Punk may have issues, but he draws far more money for AEW than Jack Perry ever has or ever will. Instead of worrying about what Punk is doing, why not get rid of the “children” who don’t know how to be professional instead? That sounds more like a plan to me.
TK spoke a lot about redemption/second chances in the post-show scrum, and I can’t think of a bigger opportunity for a second chance than the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch returning at Wembley.
Wembley has now come and gone and that match was never considered as an option, nor should it ever be. They tried and it didn’t work. Time to move on to other things instead.
With AEW already booking out Wembley next year, do you think WWE will retaliate and finally book a Wrestlemania in the UK or do something to undercut AEW’s ticket sales for all in 2024?
It may not be a Wrestlemania, but WWE has certainly noticed and I’m sure we’ll be getting a “Hold My Ico-Pro” moment sooner rather than later with a big event in the UK or maybe even with the upcoming tour of India. WWE won’t let AEW’s new record last for long. Count on that.
In honor of the late Bob Barker, if you could book any celebrity to guest host a WWE show or an AEW show, who would it be and how would you book them?
I’d book comedian Brad Williams and have him do a “match” with Hornswoggle. Or maybe they could team up and take on The Miz. But Williams would be my choice.
With CM Punk seeming to be a bit of a nightmare to work with (for some folk, at least), which wrestler, in kayfabe, do you think would be the worst to share an office with?
Can you imagine sharing an office with The Boogeyman? Big clocks and worms everywhere. That would be kind of creepy.
At some point (soon) do AEW have to let Punk go? If every time there’s a PPV and the whole roster crosses paths leads to more drama and it’s always him causing it, do they have to cut their losses?
From what I’ve noticed, it’s not always Punk that’s causing the problems, but more often than not, it’s the so-called Elite and their friends, behaving like children, who like to stir the pot and can’t be professional. But yes, I do agree that AEW needs to cut its losses and get rid of the dead weight. So long, Bucks, Page, and Jungle Boy. We’ll miss you.
Who caused more controversy? 90s HBK or Punk?
I’ll go with Punk, even though the majority of his troubles aren’t his fault. HBK was a mess to be sure, but Vince McMahon could keep him under control most of the time and had control over his company. Tony Khan doesn’t have that and the inmates run the asylum. And then shit happens as a result, with not only Punk but everyone.
Do you think Bray’s death will impact Edge’s future? Will he take it as a life’s too short He has to spend time with the family. Or life’s too short you gotta do what you love for as long as you can?
I’m sure that seeing Bray Wyatt pass away so young will be weighing on Edge’s mind, just as it probably is with everyone who knew and loved Windham. Who can say how he’ll take it? That’s for Edge to decide, but I’m sure he’s thinking about it.
Do you think that the remaining “Wyatts” should be given a run in the tag division or be allowed to use the “Wyatt” family theme as a forever tribute to Brodie and Windham?
Rowan and Braun, as a team, possibly managed by “Uncle Howdy” Bo Dallas would be nice to see and is possible, but if they’re given the tag team titles, I’d rather it be because they’ve earned them and are getting over rather than as a sympathy move for the memory of Bray. I’m not against it, but I want it to be for the right reasons and not because Bray died.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
