It’s been a few days and my apologies for that. I’ll try and do better in the days and weeks to come. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Wardlow has again disappeared. If this isn’t an injury issue, what can AEW do to save him from obscurity?
Bring him back, put him in a story with a prominent talent, and be consistent in pushing him as a big star. Otherwise, they should just release him from his contract, set him free, and let him go to a different company that knows how to make stars.
Do you think AEW would have any interest in The Boogeyman?
Except for a one-off appearance, I can’t see any reason that AEW would bring The Boogeyman in. And even if they did, they’d have to change the name and character to avoid WWE Legal coming down hard on them for copyright infringement as WWE owns the character. He wouldn’t be worth the hassle.
The Dragon Ricky Steamboat versus The King Jerry Lawler versus The American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Who wins?
It would all depend on where the match is taking place and who the booker is, but if I was booking, in a neutral area, like maybe The Cow Palace in San Francisco, I’d probably book Steamboat to win with a surprise roll-up on Lawler.
The Midnight Express. What in your opinion made this team so great?
They were consistent in the ring, could work well against anyone, and had the best mouthpiece in the business in Jim Cornette. In terms of everything you’d want in a tag team, the Midnight Express, regardless of whether it was Eaton & Condrey, or Eaton & Lane, along with Cornette, was indeed the total package.
Miro versus Nikita Koloff. Who wins?
This would be a true slobber knocker in every sense of the word. Man meat slapping man meat and brutality would prevail. It would be incredible to witness and see. In his prime, I think Nikita would win.
What wrestler should have been a world champion, but never was?
So many names come to mind and Dutch Mantell did a piece on this topic on his podcast, listing the 5 top guys who deserved to be World Champions, but never were. His top choice was Ted DiBiase. And my top choice? I won’t argue with Dutch. I’ll go with Ted DiBiase too.
There are rumors that Manu, aka Afa Jr., may be returning to WWE as part of the Bloodline story, as Jey Uso’s bodyguard. Thoughts?
It would make for an interesting swerve and make sense of the overall picture of things. I’m still surprised that Rikishi hasn’t stepped into the scene as of yet, and I’m still expecting to see The Rock at some point as well. But as for Manu, if he’s in good ring shape and available, bring him in. The more, the merrier. I’d like to see it.
Is Edge overrated?
No, he’s Rated R. Everyone knows that.
Eric Bischoff recently compared All In to an Indy show on steroids. Thoughts?
What is there to say? It was a successful show for AEW and made a ton of money, setting a record for live paid attendance. They have a lot to be proud of, but the only part that is memorable and will be talked about in six months is the backstage stuff with Jack Perry and CM Punk. The show was successful, but forgettable as well. It was just another Indy show in a big stadium. In terms of booking and production, it was nothing special at all.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And keep your eyes open because there will be plenty more editions of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A, as well as the Ultimate X Q&A, coming up over the next two days. I’ve been slack and the questions have been accumulating. You’ve been warned.
And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
Ubuntu!
