And here we are again with even more questions about the King of Sports, as I continue to clean out my inbox. I’ll never take another three-day break again. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s rock.
Do you think Stephanie McMahon will ever return to the WWE, either as an Executive or an on-screen character?
As Vince gets older, I can see Endeavor reaching out to Stephanie to keep the McMahon name associated with the WWE Product, especially if her husband, Triple H, remains as the Head of Creative. I’m sure she’s enjoying her time away from the company, playing the role of Mom and Wife, but I’m sure she misses it sometimes too. She’ll be back at some point.
Edge’s name has been removed from the WWE’s internal roster and he’s no longer listed as an active wrestler for WWE. So, AEW bound?
This story has been updated and while it’s an intriguing thought, Edge has only been removed from the active roster and is still listed as a part of WWE, along with several others who are still under contract but are out for various reasons, such as injuries, maternity leave, etc. So Edge is still with WWE and part of the WWE family. I still can’t see him going to AEW and I honestly doubt he ever will.
If Edge does go to AEW, should he feud with Christian or someone else? If not Christian, then who?
I don’t think Edge will be going to AEW, but if he does show up there, I would put him back with Christian as a loose alliance who are not together, but are friends and have each other’s back. As for a feud, has Edge versus Sting ever happened? A true legend’s match. I’d go for that first, and then maybe have Edge and Matt Hardy go a round or two. Maybe then, we could get a Hardy Boyz versus Edge & Christian match out of the deal.
Endeavor should bring back Brawl-For-All, a PPV featuring WWE vs. UFC in shoot fights. Yes or no?
No. The Brawl for All was a bad idea when it was first introduced and it’s still a bad idea. Now, be quiet and never mention this idea again. It sucks!
Sonny Kiss says that he was “shocked” that his contract with AEW wasn’t renewed. Were you shocked? Thoughts?
If he was truly shocked, he’s probably the only one. Kiss is an entertaining character, but he only wrestled on television 8 times in three years. He was not being used and was having to beg to get matches on television. His words, not mine. He was only hired as a statement for political correctness and had a great run of getting paid for sitting at home. And now that the woken appeal has worn out, AEW realized that they didn’t need him. They gave him a paycheck and some credibility. Now it’s time to move on for both parties. And no, it’s not a shocker to anyone who pays attention.
Greg Valentine turned 73 years old today. Favorite memory of “The Hammer”.
I have several memories of The Hammer. I remember on TV when he “broke” Wahoo McDaniel’s leg and wore that great t-shirt. I saw him and Wahoo wrestle a few years later here in my hometown of Laurinburg, NC and it was a great match. I met Valentine after the matches and we spoke about the car I was driving at the time, a 1967 Nova SS. He liked my car. And finally, when I lived in Wilmington, NC, Valentine was brought to my apartment by my roommate, Michael Youngblood, with whom he had appeared on a card earlier in the night. Valentine took a nap on our couch, grabbed my beer out of the fridge, and then took off after a couple of hours to make a trip to Florida for a show the next day. He is just a cool dude, very friendly, and I have nothing but good things to say about this wrestling legend.
Triple Threat: Larry Zbyszko. Antonio Inoki, or Dory Funk Jr?
If this match happened in Japan, it would be Inoki winning, but if it’s in the United States, Inoki wouldn’t be the man pinned, but he wouldn’t win either. Most likely, Dory Funk Jr. would end up getting the victory for this one.
The Assassin (Jody Hamilton) versus Evil Uno. Who wins?
I’m a big fan of Evil Uno, but once The Assassin manages to load that mask, Uno would go down to defeat. The Assassin would win.
Who’s the bigger draw? Jon Moxley or Kevin Owens?
It’s a tough call here, but I’ll look at the big picture. Moxley is one of the top guys in AEW. Owens is an upper-level mid-carder at the moment in the WWE. At this point and time, I think Moxley gets the nod. If Owens was working a singles program, it might be different, but right now, Mox is getting the push, while Owens is part of a tag team with Sami Zayn. Yeah, Mox wins this round.
Way too many wrestlers have passed away as of late and are in Wrestling Heaven. If you could book a PPV for Wrestling Heaven, using only wrestlers and managers who are no longer with us, 8 matches, what would your show look like?
Eight matches? Right off the top of my head, I’d the main event with Harley Race & Terry Funk versus Dusty Rhodes & Dick Murdoch. In the co-main event, Randy Savage w/ Lanny Poffo & Miss Elizabeth versus Antonio Inoki. As for the rest of the card, how about Exotic Adrian Street & Bobby Eaton versus Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper? The Fabulous Moolah & Mae Young versus Luna Vachon & Sherri Martel. The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff w/ Freddie Blassie versus The Blackjacks, Mulligan & Lanza w/ Captain Lou Albano. Roddy Piper versus Playboy Buddy Rose. Ox Baker versus Ernie Lass in a Cleveland Street Fight. And former AWA Women’s Champion Penny Banner versus Ann Casey. Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, and Rich Landrum would be the commentary team, while Gene Okerlund would handle the interviews. And there you go.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe if you haven’t already. And with that, let’s wrap things up. It’ ‘s time for dinner and maybe some AEW and then I’ll be back later tonight with more stuff. Stay well, my friends, and watch out for foreign objects. I’ll see you at the matches and that is all the people need to know.
