As I’m supposed to be preparing for work, I decided instead to talk about the world’s greatest sport. Did you see Smackdown last night? It gave me goosebumps. Finally, the Rock has returned to the WWE. But that’s a discussion for later. For now, let’s do the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. And away we go.
Triple Threat: Baron Von Raschke, Ox Baker, or Mark Lewin?
Mark Lewin is probably the most solid performer of the three men, but I have a thing for bald Nazis who use the claw. The Baron would win and that is all the people need to know.
LA Knight is over AF right now, but some claim he is too old to make a significant impact. So, my question is this… Do you think he still has time to have a HoF-worthy career?
LA Knight may be older than the majority of the current WWE roster, but there is still plenty of time left for the man to make the necessary impact, do the right things, and secure a future role as part of the WWE Hall of Fame. Look at Dallas Page. He was in his mid-thirties when he began his career and what a career he had. Knight might not be a spring chicken, but he’s not over the hill yet either. He’ll be okay.
Vince Russo recently stated that WWE needs to get rid of Shayna Baszler instead of repeatedly trying and failing to get her over. Thoughts?
I hate to agree with Vince Russo, but I’m afraid he’s right with this one. I like Baszler, but she has no charisma or personality as a character. She’s tough as they come, but her matches are just kind of there, nothing more. Maybe if she had a Paul Heyman by her side to build a character and speak for her, it would be different, but without some major repackaging and tweaking, I can’t see much of an upside to Shayna. WWE should just let her go.
Thoughts on WWE bringing back Nia Jax?
Unlike most, I don’t mind seeing Jax back as part of the WWE. She’s a unique character and adds to the WWE Women’s roster. I’m glad to see her back.
In a week where we’ve seen The Great Khali and Nia Jax return to the WWE, who is the one wrestler to complete this unholy trifecta?
Hornswoggle. Please say it’s Hornswoggle. I can already see Swoggle being revealed as Rey Mysterio’s new “son” and feuding with Dom Mysterio. Please WWE, make it happen.
According to Vanity Fair, Bad Bunny is toying with the idea of a WWE return: “I plan to take the title from Roman Reigns.” Thoughts?
While Bad Bunny was impressive in the few matches that he had over the past few years, he’s not going to be the man who takes out Roman Reigns. It sounds good for an interview, but so far as reality goes, it’s not going to happen. Bring Bunny back in the WWE, yes. But fighting Roman? No, I don’t think so.
Many Rose recently teased that she may be returning to wrestling. If she does, where does she end up working? And are you excited about this possible return of the former NXT Champion?
Truthfully, I had forgotten that she was gone. If Mandy does return, I expect that we’ll see her with Impact Wrestling or AEW. AEW could use her experience and name value, but Impact would probably have a better schedule so she can keep doing her OnlyFans job as well as wrestle. AEW would pay better, so let’s go with that.
If WWE were to bring back Tough Enough, who would you want the “Coaches” and “Trainers” to be?
I prefer the older versions of Tough Enough to the most recent incarnation, but it’s an interesting idea. I don’t think it will happen since WWE has NXT and the Performance Center to use for training new talents, but let’s say they decided to bring back TE anyhow. For the head coach role, I’d like to see Chad Gable. And for the roles of trainers, how about Dolph Ziggler, Trish Stratus, and Curtis Axel?
Should Christian get “One more match” and a run with the AEW World Championship?
Christian seems to be more focused and on track now than he’s been in years and has been on a roll with good matches, great promos, and his angle talking about “dead fathers” that has taken off as of late. He’s like a fine wine that’s only getting better with age and one more run as the AEW World Champion? I would absolutly love to see it happen.
So what if Tony Khan stays behind the scenes and uses Christian Cage as the on-air Authority Figure and the “Face” of the company? Thoughts?
There are few in the company that could do it better, but for now, Christian is better “as the TNT Champion” and cutting promos about dead fathers than trying to do an “impartial authority role” for AEW. That would just be a waste of his skills and talent. Tony Khan would be better off if he were to step back behind the scenes and stay off TV for a while, maybe allowing for some on-air Authority figures, but Christian wouldn’t be the right person at this point and time in his career. Someone like Jerry Lynn, Dean Malenko, or Arn Anderson would be better for a position like that.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. It’s the next morning now and I ran out of time yesterday before I had to leave for work. And last night, I was so damn tired, I’m, just finishing this up now before I do anything else. I’m going back to bed. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
