I’m not very impressed with this batch of questions, but what the hell? I’ve often said that nothing is off limits here, so long as it’s about the World’s Greatest Sport, pro wrestling. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Tommy Dreamer recently stated that he believes Paul Heyman and Sabu both belong in the WWE Hall of Fame. Thoughts?
Dreamer is 100% correct and both men, Heyman and Sabu, definitely belong in the WWE Hall of Fame, sooner rather than later. Heyman should be inducted this upcoming year in Philadelphia, while Sabu should be part of the process whenever it happens, so long as it does happen. And for that matter, Dreamer belongs as well. Just saying.
Who is the best talker in WWE History?
This question can’t be answered because it’s too subjective. Different people look for different things in what makes a great promo and what I like and others like is a matter of opinion. And I can’t narrow it to just one person. I can see who I think is consistent and reliable, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the best. Enough talking though. The best promos, in my opinion, are CM Punk, Steve Austin, Paul Heyman, and The Rock.
Where would you rank Bryan Danielson?
A great performer, a good talker, an interesting character, and an asset to any company or roster he happens to be a part of.
Since WWE is face-heavy at the top of the card and AEW is heel-heavy, let’s trade three heels from AEW for 3 faces from WWE. The goal is to make both organizations stronger. Who are you trading?
Three WWE faces that could go to AEW and improve things are Ricochet, Bianca Belair, and Rwy Mysterio. He can take the LWO with him. As for AEW heels that could make a significant impact in WWE, I’d go with Christian Cage, MJF, and Lance Archer.
Do you think Rhea is the new Chyna?
No, I don’t. I think she’s the modern-day Rhea Ripley.
What were your three favorite feuds involving Hulk Hogan?
My three favorite Hulk Hogan feuds would be Andre the Giant, The Alliance To End Hulkamania, and Randy Savage.
Zilla Fatu, the son of Umaga, who was being pushed heavily by Reality of Wrestling, is no longer with the promotion due to what ROW Owner Booker T calls “irreconcilable differences”.What do you think happened and do you think we’ll see Fatu show up in WWE/NXT with his cousins, Roman Reigns and The Usos, as part of The Bloodline story?
I think that what happened is that Fatu is being pulled away from the public eye, to grow and train in a private setting, getting ready for a call-up to WWE. And now, he’s just biding his time for when that call comes and he becomes a part of the Bloodline Story. It’s going to happen.
Proud & Powerful, aka Santana & Ortiz, reunited at AEW All In, but now, just weeks later, seem to having problems as Santana announced he was going to work as a singles wrestler and Ortiz responded, obviously not happy about this development. Thoughts on the potential breakup of the multiple-time tag team champions?
They were cool at one time, but as happens with all friendships and relationships, things change over time. They’re not close anymore and can’t be forced to work together if they’re not cool with it. It’s a loss to AEW to lose this top tag team as a tag team, but it’s life and shit happens. Now they can have two singles wrestlers doing their own thing and best wishes to them both.
What happens when David Benoit becomes a wrestler and shares a ring with Christian Cage?
The internet will explode and it will be wrestling magic, the likes of which will never be seen again. It would be so damn cringe-worthy, but awesome as well.
Do you think WWE would be interested in adding former AEW wrestler Sonny Kiss to their roster?
No, I don’t think so. King is an interesting character and would draw some eyes to the product, but the novelty would wear off pretty quickly, and then what? Kiss just isn’t that good.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Also be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
