I’m back. My apologies for my absence for the past few days. I’ve been feeling like crap and while I’ve managed to go to work and take care of most of my responsibilities, sitting in front of this computer, getting into the zone, and talking about wrestling just wasn’t going to happen. Getting old and falling apart sucks. But I’m here now and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.

You’re offered a huge contract to do a podcast, but the only requirement is that your cohost is either Virgil, Hannibal, or Tony Atlas. Would you take the job and which cohost would you think?

So I have Virgil playing the victim and whining about his “meat sauce”, Hannibal with his single-digit IQ and probably trying to sue/stab me, or Tony who tends to exaggerate quite a bit and annoys the hell out of me as my options. Oy vey! Where is Jamie Dundee when you need him? I’d probably go with Virgil on this one. Stories about meat sauce can be entertaining, right?

Who would you rather have as your “personal security”? Virgil or Ralphus?

Ralphus. That was a great gimmick by Chris Jericho and the way it spoofed Goldberg. Comedy gold at its finest. So Ralphus it is.

Mickie James Wants To See Tara/Victoria Be Inducted Into IMPACT Or WWE Hall Of Fame Next. Thoughts?

What is there to think about? Lisa Marie Varon, aka Tara/Victoria, belongs in both Halls of Fame. It’s a no-brainer. The sooner, the better, in my opinion.

Do you remember the WWE Mixed Match Challenge? Would you like to see WWE bring it back?

Right now, there is so much going on and so much wrestling to attempt to digest every week, the thought of another event or tournament of some type just doesn’t work for me. But that being said, I remember this and enjoyed it. Miz and Asuka were the winners of the first Challenge and I’d love to see them come back together to defend their Championship. I’d love to see Miz and Asuka together in some sort of partnership on TV. They have great chemistry and work well together. It’s so unusual, it works.

Bruno Sammartino, Terry Funk, and Cactus Jack versus Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, and Jimmy Valiant. Who wins?

If there had to be a winner, the team of Funk, Bruno, and Foley would win, with Jimmy Valiant there to take the fall for his team. But that being said, a match like this would have a DQ or Count-Out Finish so both teams would be protected and look strong.

Do you remember a wrestler named George Wells? Thoughts?

I briefly remember Wells from a short run that he had with Crockett back in 1978-79. He was a talented guy with a good look, but not very much charisma that I can remember. He was part of a tag team with Dewey Robertson, in his pre-Missing Link days, and they were the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions. I think he had a background with the NFL and had a good run in the Mid-South, but my memories of the man aren’t very strong.

Matt Cardona is threatening to show up on AEW Dynamite to respond to Mike Santana’s attack at a recent GCW show. Would you rather see Matt as part of AEW or back in WWE?

Well, that threat was made almost two weeks ago and Matt never showed up on AEW Dynamite so I guess the question is kind of moot. But to the other question, I’d rather see Matt back in the WWE, using the Indy God character, and reunited with his wife, Chelsea Green. When that happens, he’s going to get over big time and be a top guy with the company.

There is a rumor going around that, a year from now, AEW will be running twelve PPVs a year and the shows, Dynamite & Collision, will be airing on HBO Max. Thoughts?

I’d much rather see that happen than the way AEW is currently presented now. AEW has some good stuff at times, buried by all the garbage wrestling and non-stories. I don’t know if it will happen as predicted, but I think in the big picture of things, I think it would be better than what we’re currently seeing now.

Would Gary Hart be on your Mt. Rushmore of pro wrestling managers?

Hart was never on the national scene like WWE or the later days of WCW, but he was absolutely one of the best managers of the territory days. Hall of Fame worthy and part of a Mt. Rushmore of wrestling managers? I would say yes to both options.

Thoughts on Johnny Weaver as a wrestler? As an announcer?

No offense to Gordon Solie, but Weaver was also known as the “Dean of Professional Wrestling” and deserves the title more. Johnny Weaver was a legendary name in the Mid-Atlantic territory. As a wrestler, when I started watching, he was already in his senior year but was as smooth and polished as a person can be in that ring. He was already at legend status for the Crockett territory and worked part-time in the ring, also working in the office and helping to book the territory. I was always a fan of Weaver growing up and had the chance to see him live many times. He was older, but he was the picture definition of “experienced veteran” should be. As an announcer, I liked him at the time, but I was a young kid and didn’t know any better. I look back and watch now and I can’t help but cringe. A great wrestler, a true legend, and as an announcer, not all that.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Also be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll be back soon with more stuff. Have a great one and keep an eye out for foreign objects. I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
