Another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A? You’re damn right! Let’s roll.
The Barbarian & Meng w/ Jimmy Hart versus Grayson Waller & Austin Theory. Who wins?
I think Grayson & Theory have teamed together maybe a dozen times so far if that many. Barbarian & Meng are two of the toughest men alive, much less in the wrestling business. It doesn’t matter to me if this is a wrestling match or a shoot. Meng & Barbarian win, period.
What has been Tony Khan’s biggest MISTAKE in AEW history so far?
Where do we begin? Khan makes so many mistakes daily, but it’s hard to narrow down just one or two as the biggest. Is it the crazy tweeting? Is it the lack of structure backstage with the inmates running the Asylum? It is the choice of EVPs that he’s selected and hired for the company? So many choices and options. The biggest, in my opinion, is trying to do everything himself, including the booking, the stories, etc. Khan needs to learn to delegate and let others, who are qualified and experienced, do what needs to be done instead of trying to be a control freak over every small detail. Tony is burning himself out pretty quickly, but he’s too stubborn to realize it. And AEW is suffering as a result.
Pretty Deadly versus Breezango versus The West Hollywood Blondes versus The Dancing Fools. Who wins?
Elton Prince & Kit Wilson versus Fandango & Tyler Breeze versus Lenny Lane & Lodi versus Disco Inferno & Alex Wright. What a match this would be. Talk about shenanigans and chaos. This would be total comedy, mixed with the slightest bit of wrestling, and it would either be a great match or a total cluster. One or the other. Who would win? I’ll go with Breezango on this one.
According to rumors, there are currently plans for two War Games Matches at Survivor Series, one for the men and one for the women. Thoughts?
War Games at Survivor Series is seemingly becoming a regular tradition and that’s a good thing, but two matches on the same card? That’s overkill in my opinion and too much. I’d love to see The War Games headline the Survivor Series event, but only the one, men’s match. And I know that people will say that’s not fair to the women wrestlers, but I have a solution for that. Let the men and their War Games match headline The Survivor Series. Let the women have three title matches with the World and Tag Team titles, but the only War Games match is the one with the men. And then, a few weeks down the road, we see the women ganging up and making alliances. They have issues that need to be settled, so the General Manager gets involved and brings up the Men’s match from Survivor Series. If it was good for the men, it was good for the women. Then use the Women’s War Games match to headline another PPV, either for an NXT event or a B-Show PPV. Use the match to build two shows instead of one.
Do you still believe that CM Punk will appear in the WWE soon?
The only person who says it isn’t happening is Meltzer and everyone is just parroting him. The websites that print news, verify sources, and have a degree of credibility, have not reported that Punk and WWE have broken off talks. I still think we’ll see Punk show up on WWE television, most likely at the Survivor Series coming up in Chicago. So Punk is back in WWE? It’s going to happen. Believe that!
Would WWE RAW work on a night other than Monday?
That’s a tough call because wrestling fans are creatures of habit and they’re used to RAW being on Monday nights. It’s been there for almost thirty years and wrestling is synonymous with Monday nights. If RAW moves to a network as its new home, a different night might work, but on a different cable network, it won’t be quite as easy to digest or go over quite as well. If WWE shows it, they will come and the fans would eventually get used to the change and make the switch, but it wouldn’t be a smooth or easy transition.
Current CMLL and former WWE star Mistico, aka the original Sin Cara, is coming to AEW. Will he be a big needle mover for the AEW ratings?
Who? Sin Cara didn’t move ratings in WWE and left the company after having to stop a match due to a broken finger. If Adam Copeland can’t spike the ratings with his presence, Mistico doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell. He’s just another name that few will care about or even notice.
Is Dom Mysterio a future World Champion?
Not anytime soon, but he’s getting better all the time and has come so far in just the past year or so, I think that eventually, there will be a World Championship in his future. It won’t be anytime soon, but his day is coming eventually.
Samoa Joe versus Gunther. Who wins?
This match would be so stiff and so brutal, it would be awesome. And the Ring General would take a beating, but in the end, Gunther would take home the big victory.
Do you think Nick Aldis will eventually wrestle during his time in WWE?
I think the new role as General Manager is to introduce Aldis to the WWE fans and audience and allow them to get to know Aldis and get used to him. And then, once he’s a familiar face, the wrestling matches will come. He’s too good to not wrestle eventually.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
