It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Tully Blanchard versus Pedro Morales. Who wins?
While Pedro was a great WWWF Champion in the early 70s and well deserves his ranking as a legend of professional wrestling, Tully Blanchard is, well, he’s Tully Blanchard. With some sneaky help and a distraction by Mr. James J. Dillon, Tully would steal the win and take that trip to the pay window.
Former NWA Champion Nick Aldis is the new General Manager of WWE Smackdown. Thoughts?
It’s a good move to introduce the former NWA World Champion to the WWE Universe and fans who may not be aware of his credentials and legacy. Aldis is well-spoken and plays the role of an authority figure very well, and once he’s earned the trust and respect of the masses, he can transition to the wrestling ring and become an active member of the roster. We’ll see Aldis performing in the WWE ring before long. Count on it.
Now that Aldis is part of the WWE, how long before we see his wife, Mickie James, back in WWE for one last run?
Another run and possibly a well-deserved Induction into the WWE Hall of Fame for Mickie James? That sounds good to me and with her husband, Nick Aldis as the Smackdown General Manager, that’s a good way to bring her in. Do it, Triple H.
Is Tony Khan suffering from burnout or is he just losing it?
I think it’s a combination of both. Tony works for the Jacksonville Jaguars, for his father’s football/soccer team in the UK, and runs AEW, including overseeing and booking five hours of television every week, plus pay-per-views, and that’s a rough schedule. Even the very best would be overwhelmed by that workload and Tony has been doing it for nearly four years straight, with no break. He needs to pull back, learn to delegate, and take a long vacation. I guess we should be glad that deranged tweets and bad booking are all we’re getting. Tony is losing it and getting worse all the time. Not a pretty situation at all.
The North-South Connection (Adrian Adonis & Dick Murdoch) versus Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. Who wins?
What a match this would be. Adonis & Murdoch weren’t pretty, but they were one of the best tag teams of their era and could match up well against anyone. Zayn and KO? Their history and legacy speaks for itself. This match would rock! I’d go with Adonis & Murdoch for the win.
Rank these managers from best to worst. Bobby Heenan, Sherri Martel, Mr. Fuji, Slick, and Jimmy Hart.
From best to worst, it would be Bobby Heenan, Sherri Martel, Jimmy Hart, Mr. Fuji, and then Slick.
If AEW and WWE had War Games and it was 10 0n 10, who would you have for both sides? Who would win?
Ten on Ten? That’s going to be one hell of a clusterf*ck of a match, but I’ll play along. Off the top of my head, the two teams would be Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, The Usos, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and Dom Mysterio, with Paul Heyman & Rhea Ripley at ringside, versus Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Sammy Guevera, Eddie Kingston, Wardlow, Ricky Starks, and MJF, representing AEW, with Tony Khan at ringside, probably fearing for his life. And who would win? The team with the actual wrestlers and professionals. WWE wins.
So now that Wardlow is back, how should he be booked?
Just have him destroy opponents with lots of power bombs, quick matches, and total destruction until he’s ready for a title shot. And then have him win, like the monster he is.
Which title means more? The NWA Championship or the ROH World Championship?
The ROH Championship is just a secondary title in AEW, with no TV or regular outlet to be shown on or defended, except for when Tony Khan needs a match to open Dynamite. The NWA Championship doesn’t get much recognition either these days, but it’s still recognized for its legacy and an important title. So the NWA title means more, at least to me.
It’s been almost two weeks since Edge aka Adam Copeland debuted in All Elite Wrestling. How do you think his run has been so far & why?
It’s been okay but has to be considered by most as a disappointment. The ratings have not increased, and in fact, have decreased since the Rated R Superstar joined the AEW ranks. His first reunion with Christian, in the overrun on AEW Dynamite, did well, but the rest of the show was destroyed by NXT in the ratings. Edge hasn’t moved the needle for AEW in any way, but down. He, and AEW, can’t be happy.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
