It’s another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
So Jimmy Uso helped The Judgement Day regain the WWE Tag Team Championship titles on RAW, laying out his brother Jey. Is Jimmy joining the Judgement Day?
It could happen, but I think this is more of a soft alliance as teased by Rhea Ripley & Paul Heyman a few weeks ago on RAW. Common enemies make great alliances and Jimmy Uso helping out The Judgement Day to help them regain their tag team titles is just an example of that and nothing more.
So Triple H has full control of WWE Creative and Vince McMahon is out. Thoughts?
It has to be a shocker for Vince, but that’s what happens when you’re no longer the big boss. It’s better for the WWE and the fans though because it allows Triple H to present his vision without interference or having to pander to the old man and so far, Hunter has been doing exceedingly well. It was time for Vince to take a step back and I think everyone realized this, but him.
CMLL Star Mistico is scheduled to make his AEW debut this week, wrestling against NJPW star Rocky Romero, and will be part of AEW for the near future. But part of the deal is that Mistico can’t work with or appear with stars like Fenix, Rush, Andrade, or anyone affiliated with rival promotion AAA. So, good deal or not? Thoughts?
Considering how many wrestlers in AEW either work with AAA or have in the past, Mistico is going to be heavily limited in who he can and can’t wrestle. It’s still a big move for AEW to bring in one of the top stars of Mexico and CMLL so no complaints there. Maybe having Mistico in the same locker room as some of AAA’s top talents, even if they can’t work matches together, will help ease some of the tension between the two rival promotions. One can only hope.
Does Debra McMichael belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Usually, I’m pretty cool about almost anyone getting into the HOF if they made a significant impact in pro wrestling or have had some memorable moments, but Debra? She got into the business by tagging along with her then-husband, Steve McMichael, and then latched on to Steve Austin for a bit while serving as the manager for Jeff Jarrett. But has she had any good matches? Any memorable promos? She had big boobs and made Debra cookies. That’s all that’s memorable about her, plus she accused Stone Cold of domestic abuse. So no, no Hall of Fame for her. She doesn’t deserve it.
So apparently Edge is unhappy after Ricky Starks went off-script in a live promo on AEW Collision. Thoughts?
I think Adam has started to realize he’s not in WWE anymore and the children can be annoying at times. Edge is a professional and he should be able to roll with it and handle things better, but he should probably establish the rules sooner rather than later so he doesn’t get Punked out later on down the road.
Who is the best babyface of all time? The best heel of all time?
Just off the top of my head, the best babyface of all time is Rick Steamboat. And the best heel? Vince McMahon.
Jake “The Snake” Roberts versus Shawn Michaels. Who wins?
With both men in their prime, it would be an interesting match. HBK with the physicality and fancy moves, while Snake uses psychology to play his games and get into Shawn’s head. I think Jake should probably win.
What are your thoughts on CJ Perry managing Action Andretti?
Who? I had forgotten that Andretti was even part of the AEW roster. CJ as his manager is okay, but I don’t get it. I don’t see any chemistry or common bonds there and it’s just two names thrown together for no reason. At least it gives Miro someone to destroy and crush.
Would AEW be stronger if Tony Khan had stayed in the background as the owner/financial backer instead of being the “face” of the company?
Tony, behind the scenes, would work much better than the current method of Tony being the public face of the company, constantly tweeting, and the face of every media event. Tony, and his thin skin towards criticism, the crazy tweets, and incessant need to control everything have proven time and time again to be his own worst enemy. Sit back and hire someone to book the shows, make the appearances, and be the public face of the company, and things would improve rapidly in my opinion. Just sign the checks and enjoy the show. That’s all he needs to be and things would be so much better if he could just understand that.
Thoughts on Kip Sabian?
Kip is a talented wrestler with a unique look and good speaking skills that are much better than he’s been presented or allowed to show. He’s not a top guy in my opinion, but he could be a strong mid-card performer for AEW if they had a consistent booking and a strong structure in place to build and support characters. He has an entertaining quality about him, that “it” factor, and with the right story or opponents, could make AEW a lot of money. Instead, he wears a box on his head for a year and does jobs on Rampage. A tragic place for a talented dude.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
