It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. You have the questions and I have the answers. Let’s roll.

Alberto Del Rio claims that he was set for a WWE return before Vince McMahon’s retirement. Thoughts?

I think we have a better chance of seeing Ryback versus Nailz as the main event of Wrestlemania 40 in a Katie Vick on a Pole Match than ever seeing Del Rio in a WWE ring again. His past relationship with Saraya, fka Paige, plus the criminal charges he’s faced during the past few years, not to mention the reason for his last dismissal from WWE, for slapping a backstage employee, are all working against him. I don’t think even AEW would hire him at this point. Del Rio is just talking to be talking and telling lies. Nothing to see here.

Dirty Dom Mysterio versus Dirty Dutch Mantell. Who wins?

Dirty Dom would take a beating, but after Mami gets involved, Dutch would do the right thing and put the kid over, as he should. Mysterio wins.

Logan Paul called out Rey Mysterio for a US Championship match after defeating Dillon Danis. Rey responded that he was not hard to find. So Rey Mysterio versus Logan Paul at Crown Jewel? Thoughts?

I’ve heard that Mysterio versus Paul is penciled in for Crown Jewel, but I’ve also heard speculation about a Triple Threat Match involving Santos Escobar being talked about so I don’t know on this one. Rey versus Paul would be a good match, but I think I’d prefer the three-man match myself. Rey and Paul are scheduled to have a face-to-face confrontation tonight on WWE Smackdown so I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see how that goes in regards to this match happening or not. We’ll know after the show tonight.

Is LA Knight just a modern version of Zack Ryder?

It sure seems that way, doesn’t it? Knight managed to get himself over with the fans without any help from WWE management or Creative. They noticed and unlike the in past with Ryder, are now getting behind him and giving Knight the heavy push. I guess the major difference is that Ryder had to deal with Vince McMahon, who didn’t see Ryder as a top guy, but Knight has Triple H as the boss, and Hunter is more open-minded and willing to go with the flow. But yeah, the similarities are there for sure.

Is Nick Aldis just a modern version of William Regal?

Well, they’re both well-spoken, incredible workers, and British, so there is all of that. But Aldis is his own man and has established a reputation and legacy of his own that few can rival. Yes, Regal was and is great, but comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges. They’re both fruits that taste great, but that’s where the comparisons end. No, Aldis is not the 2023 version of William Regal. He’s the 2023 version of Nick Aldis, as he should be.

Who was the first wrestler that you recall ever watching on
Television? How about a live event?

The first match that stands out for me from watching wrestling on television was Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling and it was The Mighty Igor versus Crusher Blackwell. As for a live event, I don’t remember the matches, but I do remember Brute Benard. He scared me and made me cry. It was in Raleigh, NC and I think I was around 4 years old.

Do you think The Attitude Era Stone Cold could take on Roman Reigns and win?

If you think that Stone Cold could stomp a mudhole in Roman Reign’s ass, give me a hell yeah! Hell yeah!

Slice Wrestling reports that Dolph Ziggler is expected to come to AEW in the coming weeks. On the other hand, rumored that there’s a high likelihood that WWE will end up rehiring the wrestler. Where do you think Dolph will end up?

After nearly twenty years as part of WWE, I think Dolph is ready to move on to new horizons. While you can never say never in WWE or professional wrestling, about anything, except for maybe Alberto Del Rio returning to the WWE, I think Dolph will be All Elite when the dust finally settles. Most likely more money, a big push, and a chance to work with his brother. Why would he say no to that?

What was the greatest heel turn in wrestling history?

Hulk Hogan joining the nWo. It was so unexpected and such a shocker, how can any other heel turn even come close?

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
