It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A and that is all the people need to know. I’m Doug. Let’s roll!
Better Pro Wrestling Gimmick: The One Man Gang or Akeem the African Dream?
I still cringe every time I think about Akeem the African Dream and how bad that gimmick was. It was Red Rooster awful in my opinion. The One Man Gang character was what a wrestler should be, big, dangerous, and badass. OMG was far better by any standards.
Which wrestler (who hasn’t been inducted) into the Hall Of Fame, deserves a spot?
Where do we start? Ivan Koloff, The Midnight Express w/ Jim Cornette, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew, Ole & Gene Anderson, King Kong Bundy, Victoria, etc. The list is endless.
Would you be a fan of CM Punk signing with TNA?
I think Punk adds to the product regardless of whatever company he decides to sign with, be it TNA, the NWA, WWE, or anyone else. If Punk were to sign with TNA, I’d start watching more often to see what’s going on. Punk is a game-changer wherever he decides to be.
Interest levels in seeing Will Ospreay in WWE?
It would be a good signing and interesting to see, but I can take it or leave it. If he goes with WWE when his contract for NJPW expires, great, but if he doesn’t, no big deal either.
WWE House Shows are outselling AEW TV Tapings and PPVs. Is this a sign that AEW is in trouble or is it irrelevant?
It’s a sign that AEW has gotten stale and they’re going back to the same markets too often with inflated prices and a product that is losing fan interest. So are they in trouble? I would say it’s a problem that needs to be addressed.
Would you like to see AEW bring in Gangrel as part of the Adam Copeland/Christian Cage feud?
Gangrel still wrestles regularly and has a long history with both men so yes, bringing him in would make sense and could add to the story. I’d be happy to see him show up.
When STING retires next year can you see him becoming a Coach in AEW or helping out with creative?
I don’t really see Sting as part of the creative because he’s never shown any interest in that area of the business before, aside from his own character. But maybe as a Coach or backstage agent, that might happen. I honestly think that once he retires, Sting will probably just head back home and enjoy some relaxation and family time instead of remaining an active part of AEW, but working as an Ambassador and making promotional appearances might not be out of the question.
Brock Lesnar isn’t booked for WWE Crown Jewel. Thoughts?
The show is sold out and they already have to add extra seats so honestly, WWE doesn’t need Brock at this show. Better to save Brock’s dates and appearances for future shows and dates where he might add to the show and product. That’s what WWE seems to be doing and I agree.
With what is going on in the Middle East, should the WWE postpone the Crown Jewel event? As a performer or staff, I am not sure if I would want to go over to the Middle East right now.
The battles with Israel and Hamas are pretty far away from Saudi Arabia where the WWE Crown Jewel event is scheduled to happen so it shouldn’t affect the WWE event and it should proceed as scheduled. I’m sure that WWE is keeping a close eye on the situation and keeping all their options open.
Konnan recently commented that he thinks AEW is trying to replicate the Dom Mysterio story with Nick Wayne. Is Konnan right?
There are a lot of similarities and common story threads between the Rey Mysterio/Dom story and the Nick Wayne/Christian alliance, but it’s pro wrestling so that’s to be expected. Konnan is right, but this has also made Nick Wayne more interesting than anything else they’ve done so far it should be okay. Dom has become a star for WWE and Wayne, we’ll see how it goes.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
