It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug and I’m the man with the answers to all of your wrestling questions. Let’s roll!

Powerhouse Hobbs believes AEW are on the same level as WWE: “We’re on the same level as them. We’re their competitors. They’re on national TV and we’re on national TV. We go head-2-head. We’re right on them. We’ve beat them in ratings at times. We’re right there on their neck. There are two major companies in this business, and it’s WWE and AEW…” “We’re right there with them. When people say, ‘Do you ever want to go to WWE?’ I tell people, we’re right there with them. If you’re watching AEW or watching WWE, I think any wrestling fan should watch all wrestling. You’re getting all types of flavors. We’re right there, on their neck.” Thoughts?

I like Hobbs and I think he had a big future in professional wrestling, but still. Really? Yes, I agree that wrestling fans should watch all wrestling. But is AEW on the same level as WWE? WWE is selling out house shows. AEW can’t get 2000 fans for a television taping or PPV. The ratings are falling faster than Owen Hart at the Over The Edge PPV back in 1999. Put down the pipe, Hobbs. I know he’s just kissing up to the boss, saying what he thinks Tony Khan will want to hear. But this comment? He’s wrong.

WWE is reportedly discussing an all-new Japanese stable consisting of Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, and Asuka. Thoughts?

If this happens, I hope they have an English-speaking manager or spokesperson to act as the voice of the group. This team, wrestling-wise, would be kickass and awesome. But in terms of promos and self-promotion, it’s kind of lacking.

Booker T recently commented that he would love to see Ric Flair and Sting have one more match in AEW and that it would be the perfect ending for Sting’s career. Thoughts?

Speaking of needing to put the pipe down, Booker T is off-base here. Ric Flair should never step in the ring and try to wrestle again. Never!

If you could reunite one faction, in their primes, for one last match, who would you bring back? And who would that last match be against?

Of course, I’d bring back the original Four Horsemen, that being Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderon, and Tully Blanchard with/ James J. Dillon & Baby Doll. As for who they’d be wrestling, it’d be The Judgement Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dom Mysterio, JD McDonagh) w/ Rhea Ripley.

What was bigger? Kurt Angle to TNA or Adam Copeland to AEW?

Kurt Angle going to TNA was the bigger move. Kurt went to TNA and actually, pun intended made an Impact! So far, Copeland’s run in AEW has been an absolute bomb and hasn’t affected the ratings at all.

Jim Ross recently revealed on his podcast that he’ll be taking a break from AEW for a while to allow his leg time to heal. Should JR call it a day and retire already? Thoughts?

I understand JR’s need to take a break and heel. Leg and foot injuries can be a total pain to deal with and he’s been trying to heal up for nearly two years. As he revealed in his announcement, the travel and constant flights have slowed down the healing process. I have the same problem with my foot and continue to work at my job two days a week. So I can see where he’s coming from on that. Best wishes to Ross for a speedy recovery. As for whether should he retire, I would say yes to a full-time presence, but maybe showing up three times a year for special events would be okay. At this point, less is more, and JR should be a special attraction, nothing more.

The Miz versus Eddie Kingston. Who wins?

The Miz would win because he’s the Miz and he’s… wait for it, AWESOME!

Are The Judgement Day the modern-day DX?

The modern-day DX? Nope. But they are the modern-day day Judgement Day, as they should be.

War Games Match: The Judgement Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dom Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Rhea Ripley) versus DX (Triple H, HBK, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Chyna). Who wins?

What a match this would be. It would be very entertaining to watch. As for who wins, I hate to admit it, but this one would go to the Degenerates. DX would win.

WWE has been hinting about Punk for the last two months, through talent promos, etc. Is it a dangerous game now that the fans are chanting his name again if they don’t have him signed?

If WWE is dropping hints, there is a reason. If Punk doesn’t make a return, then I’m sure that WWE will do a swerve to distract the audience and keep them happy and excited. If WWE keeps dropping hints about CM Punk, most likely it means something.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Also be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
