We’re back on track and it’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Happy Anniversary to my brother, Kenneth and my awesome sister-in-law, Anna. They’re the best there is, was, and ever will be. ‘Nuff said! Let’s roll.
Have you seen the pictures of Marty Jannetty’s foot after recent ankle-fusion surgery? The infection has set in and it looks horrible. Thoughts?
I have seen the pictures and I’ll be very surprised if Jannetty doesn’t end up losing that foot. It’s infected and I believe I saw sepsis mentioned as well, which is essentially blood poisoning due to an infection. It’s a long and painful injury to recover from, as is any infection in the foot. Believe me, I know. Best wishes to Marty for a speedy recovery and healing process. I wouldn’t wish problems like that on anyone. Say a prayer for Jannetty tonight. He needs it.
Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik versus The Young Bucks’ Who wins?
The Iron Sheik & Nikolai would destroy the Bucks and make them humble. Truthfully though, the Bucks would probably enjoy it. Sheik and Volkoff win.
With the upcoming release of The Iron Claw movie, do you think we’ll see The Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross) and father Kevin Von Erich, back on national television, either with WWE or AEW?
It won’t be the WWE since one of the stars of the movie, playing the role of Lance Von Erich, is AEW’s own MJF. But I can see The Von Erichs and Kevin making some appearances on AEW Dynamite and Collision to help promote the movie. I’ll be surprised if they don’t.
The Glamour Mariah May is now All-Elite. Thoughts?
Who? I’d never heard of this woman until she showed up on AEW television and based on what I’ve seen thus far, I’m not impressed. She’s just more T&A that can’t wrestle, has no strong character, and will get a small push before getting lost in the crowd. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think that I am.
Fatal 4-Way: The Usos versus The Road Warriors versus Steamboat & Youngblood versus The Hart Foundation. Who wins?
An interesting match with four strong teams, but all with very different styles. It’s hard to pick a winner from these Hall of Fame talents, but my gut is saying The Hart Foundation. So the Hart Foundation, Bret Hart and The Anvil, with the win.
Do you think Smackdown will expand to three hours when it moves to the USA Network?
If that’s what the USA Network wants, then I’m sure that WWE will make the move to accommodate them. I hope that they don’t as two hours works far better in my opinion, but It all comes down to what their broadcasting partner wants. I’m more interested to see if RAW remains three hours on whatever network they end up airing on. If Smackdown goes to three hours, I expect that RAW will end up being cut to two hours. And if RAW is cut to two hours, I could maybe see them doing an extra hour live on The Network to make up for the changes. It’s all watch-and-see at this point, but it’ll be interesting to see how things turn out.
Warner Brothers has decided to shelve the movie, Coyote versus ACME, starring John Cena, even though filming was already completed. Thoughts?
As soon as Warner Brothers announced this action, the backlash started and they backed down pretty damn quickly. As it stands now, WBD is shopping the completed film around to other companies/streaming services to distribute, so we’re going to see this movie after all. I just wish they’d do the same for the Batgirl movie and a Scooby Doo movie that they also had completed, but decided to shelve. This deal of making movies and then burying them to get a big tax write-off has attracted the attention of some members of Congress so I’m sure it won’t be happening quite as often in the future. I remember the original Space Jam, the good one with Michael Jordon, and not the POS that came a few years later with that waste of humanity, Lebron James, and this movie has the same feel to me. I’m looking forward to seeing it.
According to Vince Russo, he doesn’t consider Ravishing Rick Rude a founding member of Degeneration X, along with HBK, Triple H, and Chyna. Do you consider Rude a founding member? Why or why not?
I can see where Russo is coming from since Rude appeared with Triple H, HBK, and Chyna in the first few segments, but never wrestled as part of DX, plus was gone after only a few months to jump ship to WCW. Russo has a valid argument, but then again, it’s Vince Russo, and who cares what he thinks? I do consider Rude a founding member of DX, but using the same argument, who cares what I think? Ask Triple H and Shawn Michaels what they think. Their opinions are the only ones that matter for this question anyhow.
Trish Stratus versus Dr. Britt Baker. Who wins?
Before her most recent run in the WWE, I probably would have said Britt Baker for this match, but Trish impressed me in that cage against Becky and she’s gotten so much better with age, it’s amazing. Baker is probably among the best of the women in AEW currently, not that that’s saying much, but she’s pretty decent and this would be a good match. Trish would be the one to come out on top though.
Not a question but more an observation…Roman is breaking Hogan’s record, isn’t he?
I hope not and I don’t think so, but it’s the WWE so who can say for sure? I hope not though.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up so I can go get some sleep. I have to be back up in three hours for an early-AM doctor’s appointment. Wish me luck. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
