It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A and that is all the people need to know. Let’s roll.
So Ryback said, “If CM Punk returns tomorrow, I’ll officially retire from pro wrestling!”. Then after Punk showed up at WWE Survivor Series, Ryback backtracked and said that he was talking about AEW and is not retiring. Thoughts?
Ryback is, to put it nicely, full of crap. He said if Punk showed up, insinuating WWE, he’d retire. He lied. It’s just that simple. Actually, when was the last time Ryback wrestled a match or even showed up at a show for an appearance? His last match was in August 2018, over five years ago. He’s already retired and just too damn delusional to realize it.
So Drew McIntyre stormed from the ring, slammed his locker door shut, threw on a hoodie, and left the arena in a rage. Why?
Drew teamed up with the Judgement Day and they lost the War Games match. Every match Drew has had lately, he’s lost. If that isn’t a reason to be mad and upset, then what is?
Seth Rollins cursed and flipped off CM Punk when Punk made his appearance at Survivor Series. Work or shoot?
It’s a work. We’ll be seeing Seth versus Punk, most likely at the Royal Rumble. Watch and see.
Which of CM Punk’s returns do you think was bigger? AEW or WWE?
That’s a tough call because the AEW return was after 8 years away from pro wrestling and it was a big moment to be sure. The WWE return, was after ten years away from WWE, after a very hard split from the company. No one ever expected to see CM Punk and Triple H/WWE work together again. Both are huge moments. I’ll go with the AEW return because it was the first and set the seeds for the eventual WWE return.
Who is your favorite Outsider? Kevin Nash or Scott Hall.
Scott Hall by far. Nash always seemed to me to be riding on the success of others, be it HBK, Hall, the nWo, etc. Hall was a damn good wrestler and had many great matches and moments. Can you name a great Kevin Nash match? Me neither. So Scott Hall, aka The Bad Guy, it is.
Who do you want to see CM Punk’s first feud in WWE be with during this most recent run?
As things are going so far, it looks as if it will be Seth Rollins. I’d like to see Punk versus Austin Theory, to give Theory the big run as he did MJF in AEW. Hopefully, that’ll be down the road before long.
R-Truth is back in the WWE. What kind of feud or role would you like to see him part of?
I’d like to see Truth get a more serious push, still doing the comedy, but getting some good matches and maybe some championship gold in the process. Hell, if Big E isn’t going to return, how about Truth teaming up with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston as a new edition of The New Day? So long as we get to see Truth regularly on TV, I’ll be happy. And that’s the truth.
Do you think the Young Bucks and Adam Page will come out on AEW Dynamite this week and do a victory lap?
That would be so petty and childish, I could see it happening. But honestly, I don’t think they have the balls to do it.
How come Ole Anderson is never mentioned in the same breath as Bill Watts or Jerry Jarrett when it comes to booking territories?
It’s kind of weird because, as the booker for both The Carolinas and Georgia, at the same time no less, Ole had tremendous success as a booker and did a fantastic job. He’s got a great mind for the business and running a territory, or two of them if you will. I think the reason Ole gets a raw deal in being recognized for his work is for two reasons. One is that he’s Ole, a gruff and bitter man who tends to run people the wrong way with his blunt comments and feisty nature. And the other reason is that he stayed too long. Ole admits that he stuck around with WCW, after the Turner buyout for the money. His love of the business was gone and he was just going through the motions and it shows.
Which AEW Star are you most thankful for?
Either FTR or MJF. They’re proof that even AEW can have good wrestlers and strong matches despite the lackluster poor booking and chaos that is Tony Khan and his EVPs.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up for today. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
