It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Thoughts on The Disco Inferno?
Glen Gilberti, aka the Disco Inferno, is a smart-ass who likes to get under people’s skin and loves to poke the bear. I get that, but he’s also a talented wrestler who, despite what people seem to think, was over with the fans in WCW and knew how to draw an audience and put butts in the seats. Disco knows the wrestling business far better than most and while he comes across as a goof sometimes, the man knows his stuff. I’ve always been a fan and have a lot of respect for the guy.
Brock Lesnar versus Goldberg versus Bobby Lashley versus Batista in a Fatal 4-Way match. Who wins?
That’s a lot of man-meat in this match and I would hope the ring would be reenforced. This wouldn’t be pretty at all. Brock would win.
What former WWE Superstar did WWE drop the ball with the most? Any star from any era?
The first one that comes to mind for me is Zack Ryder. He was over with the fans and even had the fans in New York chanting his name over The Rock. Ryder kept getting buried on TV but was one of the top merchandise sellers for WWE at the time. WWE and Vince really dropped the ball with Ryder and left a lot of money lying on the table in the process. That’s one of the reasons it’s so good to see Ryder, under his real name of Matt Cardona, having so much success now as the Indy God. He always had the talent and character but had to get away from WWE to show and prove it.
WWE has put Windham Rotundo, aka Bray Wyatt, under a “Legend’s Contract” so that his family will keep receiving money from merchandise, memorabilia, etc. Thoughts?
It’s the right thing to do and I’m glad WWE has done this, to keep the flow of money to Bray’s family. Kudos to them.
Speaking of Bray Wyatt, have you heard any updates about the status of Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas) and if he’ll be returning to the WWE anytime soon?
I haven’t heard anything as of late, but I’d expect that they’re waiting until the right time to bring back Uncle Howdy. Make sure Bo is ready to come back to work and play the character, plus I would expect to wait for Braun Strowman to to be healed from his injuries and Alexa Bliss to be recovered from recently given birth. Make sure that everyone is ready to go, plus get past the current storylines and happenings. I’d expect to see things start up again after Wrestlemania.
If Tony Khan wasn’t running AEW, or at the least, didn’t feel the need to do dumb things on social media…would you enjoy the AEW product more?
If Tony wasn’t such a strong presence and borderline obnoxious, I probably would like the AEW product more. Tony Khan might be a nice guy in real life, but he comes across as a privileged brat who hasn’t got a clue. Along with the antics of his EVPs, Tony rubs people the wrong way, or me at least. It makes it hard to root for or support the guy and by association, AEW.
If you could go back in time, during the Monday Night War and be part of a group, which group would it be? DX or the NWO?
For me, I’d want to be a Horseman, but that’s not the question so let’s figure out my second choice. I think I’d want to wear the Red & Black and be part of the nWo, the Wolfpac version.
Should TNA bring back the six-sided ring?
Maybe for a one-night event or special attraction, but aside from that, I would say no. It’s harder for the wrestlers to work and doesn’t add to the product, at least not in my opinion.
MJF is still insisting that his AEW contract expires on January 1, 2024. Do you believe him? And if it is true, will he stay with AEW or leave to go to WWE?
I think that MJF probably signed a contract extension months ago, but he’s doing his job, playing up the intrigue and story that he’s going to be a free agent, and working the fans. If he announces that he’s staying with AEW, the story is dead and who cares, right? Keep everyone guessing and it’s publicity and best for business. But all of that aside, if MJF is telling the truth, I think he’ll stay with AEW. He’s young and his time in WWE will come, but I think MJF is loyal to Tony, plus Tony will pay him more in the big picture of things.
Who is the most underrated tag team in the WWE that has great matches/promos, etc., but never seems to get the attention or push? Same question, but AEW?
For the WWE, I’m really loving the team of Grayson Waller & Austin Theory. Both guys are really impressive and while they’re seemingly in a holding pattern as singles, I’d love to see them get a strong push as a tag team. And in AEW, The Dark Order team of Alex Reynolds and John Silver. These guys can work and really go in the ring, especially Silver. The Dark Order is viewed as a comedy act, but they’re good. Damn good, and they deserve better than the push they’re currently getting, at least in my opinion.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
